(ANS - Rome) - "From now on, let it be our motto: let the holiness of the children be proof of the holiness of the father," wrote Fr Rua after Don Bosco's death. This wish has found particular confirmation in the course of time. From Don Bosco to the present day, in fact, there is a tradition of holiness that deserves attention because it is the incarnation of the charism that originated with him and that has been expressed in a plurality of states of life and forms.
Rome, RMG - January 2022 - "Challenges of Higher Education in the Congregation" is the title of the presentation that the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, gave during the second day of the General Assembly of Salesian Institutions of Higher Education (IUS). The reflection, offered as part of the assembly that explores the state of the art of university and para-university institutions in the Salesian world, focused on the challenge of reconciling evolution of educational methods, freedom of tenure by faculty and the charismatic identity of the Salesian mission. "Salesian identity means, for example, that we do not discriminate against any person, neither by language, nor by nation, nor by religion; it means that Salesian institutions must make very clear that they are founded on a great many Christian and evangelical values," the Rector Major said. "And I'm talking about evangelical values, not proselytizing. Values such as respect for the person, honesty, concern for the weakest, the spirit of family and optimism as the way of life of this institution."

(ANS - Rome) - In the year in which we commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of St. Francis de Sales, January 24, the day of his feast, takes on a very special meaning for those who are inspired by the example of his life and his teachings. And it is a great family in the Church, of which our Salesian family is also a part because this is how Don Bosco wanted us from the very birth of the first oratory, even before reaching Valdocco.
(ANS – Rome) – Social Media and Salesian missionary spirit: from today you can find the materials for this year's Salesian Mission Day.
