(ANS - Turin) - After the success of the song "Il Cuore parla al cuore - The Heart Speaks to the Heart" related to Strenna 2022, Salesian Fr. Maurizio Palazzo, chapelmaster of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, has composed a musical piece for the Salesian Family Spirituality Days held in Valdocco Jan. 12-15. The new oeuvre is inspired by Strenna 2023’s message, and is entitled "Vita in noi - Life in Us."
(ANS - Turin) - It was a Feast of Don Bosco in grand style this year in Valdocco, which began already in the previous days with several preparatory activities and its full realization in the afternoon Mass with the young people, a Mass presided over by the Rector Major and 10th Successor of Don Bosco, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime. "Our YOUNG PEOPLE as The Yeast in today's Human Family" is the message that, in line with the Strenna for this year, he delivered to all those present and to the boys and girls of the Salesian Youth Movement around the world.
Cerignola, Italy - January 2023 - To celebrate the feast of Don Bosco, the Salesian Oratory in Cerignola organized "Don Bosco Day," a historic day for the entire city community. More than 700 people, in fact - children, teens, and young people from all over the diocese of Cerignola-Ascoli Satriano - gathered in joy and with a welcoming spirit, for a gathering characterized by the desire to party around Don Bosco. The activities culminated with a procession that started from the city cathedral, wound through the streets of the center, and ended at the Salesian parish "Christ the King." After this event in favor of children's rights, play, peace, and culture, at the "Don Bosco" oratory the celebration followed with games and healthy fun, just as the "Saint of Youth" wanted.
Castelnuovo Don Bosco, Italy - January 2023 - On the Feast of St. John Bosco, Fr. Stefano Martoglio, Vicar of the Rector Major, celebrated the Eucharist in the Basilica of St. John Bosco ai Becchi at 5 p.m. local time. Although it was the fourth Mass of the day, the Basilica was packed with the faithful. Therefore, thinking of the many people from all over the world who would have liked to be there on Don Bosco's feast day, Fr. Martoglio said in his homily that the faithful present were "truly blessed." Then, commenting on the day's readings, he noted that St. Paul in the first reading invites the Philippians to rejoice and not to be anxious about anything, and he thus urged everyone to bring in prayer all their worries to the Lord, so that they may have peace. Then, with reference to the Gospel and the Lord's invitation to be like children, he reminded us to welcome the little ones and respect them, having for them and their souls the utmost care. "Da mihi animas caetera tolle," he recalled, finally, was always Don Bosco's motto, because what ultimately mattered to him was saving the souls of the young.
(ANS - Rome) - "Don Alberto Maria De Agostini l’ultimo esploratore della ‘fine del mondo’" is the title of the book that editor Francesco Motto is sending to bookstores on the occasion of Don Bosco's feast day. Published by LAS in Rome, it is the Proceedings of the Conference sponsored by the Istituto Storico Salesiano, the Salesian Historical Institute, and held at UPS at the end of April 2022, enhanced by an interesting photographic insert.
