(ANS - Turin) - Last Friday, March 3, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the presence of the Salesian community in Turin-Valsalice, one of its illustrious alumni, the Archbishop of the city of Don Bosco, Msgr. Roberto Repole, returned to visit the school. "Welcome back to Valsalice, dear Bishop Roberto," was the greeting projected on the screen of the Salesian Institute's large theater, packed with over 250 students representing the 900 secondary school and middle school students with teachers, parents, past pupils.
(ANS - Mogliano Veneto) - More than 2,000 children and young people participated in the meetings of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) organized by the Salesian Province of Triveneto (INE) on February 26 and March 5. Two Sundays full of fun and an attractive educational proposal that was able to touch the hearts of the young people who participated and who became protagonists in the course of the events.

(ANS - La Spezia) - The Salesian Family of La Spezia has proposed to the whole community two formative days centered on the Eucharist and Salesian holiness. On Saturday 25 February, Fr. Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of Saints for the Salesian Family, was invited for a meeting on the theme: "The Eucharist and Mary Help of Christians".
(ANS - Genoa) - On the occasion of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Salesian presence in Genoa-Sampierdarena, a conference was held yesterday, 6 March 2023, in the Ligurian capital, entitled ‘Educating young people to generate the future. Winning alliances in the world of work.’ The theme was chosen to underline the role and importance of education and formation both in the professional sphere and in the human growth of new generations. As Fr. Sergio Pellini, Director of the 'Don Bosco' work of Genoa-Sampierdarena, pointed out, “we were not just interested in celebrating this anniversary, but also in leaving a sign of hope for young people within the context in which we operate, the city of Genoa.”
(ANS - Verona) - A new model of advanced professional training to face a profoundly changed world of work is being launched by the Salesian University Institute of Venice (IUSVE), with its new advanced academic training course in "Digital Communication, Reputation, and Brand Management". It shall take place at the Salesian University's Verona campus. The best professionals in the sector as lecturers, a flexible and modular theoretical-workshop approach, aimed at both recent graduates and professionals, and a cost that is accessible to all. The objective is high: to transmit the professional skills to manage the new great challenges: digital, reputation, multimedia, strategy, metaverse, immersivity, Artificial Intelligence, algorithms, and polarization, posed by a profoundly transformed world of communication.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Spain – 33rd Edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature: Here Are the Winners
(ANS – Madrid) – The 33rd edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature has been awarded to Beatriz Giménez de Ory (Madrid, 1972) for her novel Tres niños tristes y medio unicornio (Three Sad Children and Half a Unicorn) and David Lozano (Zaragoza, 1974) for his novel La cacería (The Hunt).

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
