(ANS – Turin) – The 4th level of the Salesianity Course promoted and organised by the Salesian Ongoing Formation Centre in the Americas (CSFPA), based in Quito, Ecuador, took place in May. A total of 19 participants came togetherin Italy for the occasion: Salesians and lay people from different Latin American countries: Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia, Uruguay, Brazil, El Salvador and Costa Rica.
(ANS – Gela) – Among the many educational and recreational activities that the St Dominic Savio Salesian Oratory in Gela offers to children and older youth in the city has been the Missionary Childhood Workshop these last five years. This has been a process of education and evangelisation for children from 5-7 years of age, and came about through the initiative of the oratory's director, Fr Alfredo Calderoni.
(ANS – Turin) – The theme of the 9th International Congress of Mary Help of Christians was officially announced during the World Advisory Council of the Salesian Family, held in Turin from 19 to 23 May leading up to the feast of Mary Help of Christians. The Congress will be held in Fatima, Portugal, from 29 August 2024 to 1 September 2024. The theme will be “I will give you a Teacher”.
(ANS – Venice) – Fr Juan Carlos Pérez Godoy, Councillor for the Salesian Mediterranean Region, completed the extraordinary visitation made on behalf of the Rector Major to the St Mark Salesian Province of North-East Italy (INE). The Extraordinary Visitation took place from October 2022 to 30 May 2023 and was an opportunity for great unity and inspiration for the Salesian communities in the Triveneto.
(ANS - Rome) - A book presentation of "Il carisma della presenza e della speranza. Un anno viaggiando con Don Ángel Fernández Artime," edited by the Secretary of the Rector Major and Co-spokesperson of the Congregation, Fr. Joseph Costa, will be held at the Vatican's Collegio Teutonico on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. In words and images, the book documents the travels of the 10th Successor of Don Bosco throughout 2022 and the first months of 2023, and provides an account of the vast work of animation being carried out to meet the family of Don Bosco on all continents - in person.
(ANS – Livorno) – So much enthusiasm, and above all so much happiness, starting from the title of the event that took place on the weekend of 27-28 May 2023 in Livorno to celebrate 125 years of Salesian presence in the city: “Happy now and in eternity”. The special guest of the celebrations was the 10th Successor of Don Bosco, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, who gave life to the local Salesian Family over two days and pointed to the direction to follow in order to always be significant and attractive for young people.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
