(ANS - Rome) - In accordance with the Statutes of the Conference of Salesian Provinces of Italy (CISI), CISI President and Councilor for the Mediterranean Region, Fr. Juan Carlos Pérez Godoy, and the members of the CISI Presidency, have deliberated on the positions to serve the Salesian communion and mission in Italy for the three-year period 2023-2026: Fr. Elio Cesari has been appointed President of the National Center for Salesian Works (CNOS) and Secretary General of CISI; Fr. Giuliano Giacomazzi has been appointed Director General of the National Federation of the National Center for Salesian Works - Formation and Professional Training (CNOS-FAP).
Turin, Italy - May 2023 - On May 13 in the church of the Salesian Institute Valsalice, Salesian Antonio Carriero was ordained presbyter, through the laying on of hands and consecratory prayer of Cardinal Óscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga, SDB, Archbishop Emeritus of Tegucigalpa. The ordination was also attended by Fr. Leonardo Mancini, Superior of the Piedmont and Aosta Valley Special Circumscription (ICP), numerous Salesians, faithful and young people of the Institute.
(ANS - Rome) - The beautiful and significant circumstance of the 70th anniversary of the Institute of Catechetics (ICA) of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) in Rome is definitely noteworthy. The seed sown so long ago has become a tree and continues to bear fruit. It was the foresight of Fr. Pietro Ricaldone, Rector Major and Don Bosco's IV successor, who wanted to establish, between 1953 and 1954, a proper School of Catechetics within the Higher Institute of Pedagogy of the Pontifical Salesian Athenaeum in Turin.
(ANS - Catania) - Yesterday, May 16, 2023, the 105th birthday of Fr. Rodolfo di Mauro, a Salesian of the Sicilian Province, born in 1918, currently the oldest Son of Don Bosco in the world, was celebrated in Catania. While his age certainly represents a remarkable achievement, the real record for Fr. di Mauro is his countless extraordinary actions for his "boys," who were there yesterday, at the oratory, to blow out the candles on the big cake with him.
(ANS - Turin) - In an atmosphere of great closeness, familiarity, and concerted effort in the search for solutions for the benefit of the Salesian mission, the Team Visit to the Europe Central and North (ECN) Region is proceeding as planned. 118 Salesians, led by the Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, and accompanied by the Regional Councilor, Fr. Roman Jachimowicz, and Sector Councilors, are working diligently to chart common paths for the region for the benefit of all young people, especially those most in need.
(ANS - Turin) - The Solemnity of Mary Help of Christians in the Basilica dedicated to Her in Turin in this year 2023 is marked by the initiative of Marian Saturdays: "Saturday Evenings for Women": these are three evenings, beginning next May 13, aimed at exploring three different feminine dimensions: the strength of women, the courage of women, and the beauty of women.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
