(ANS - Forlì) – Italian Vice-Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and the minister for University Education Anna Maria Bernini visited the town of Forlì (city in Emilia-Romagna, Northern Italy) on Friday, 12 January to get to know some of the city's excellences - and certainly they could not miss out the 'Don Bosco' Salesian Institute in Via Episcopio Vecchio. On the occasion, the two ministers also had a dialogue with the young students of the Salesian presence, which was also attended by Fr Roberto Dal Molin, National President of 'Salesian Association for Social Promotion'.
(ANS – Turin) – The presentation of the so-called "Social Saints" of Turin concludes today: apparently ordinary people, but in reality extraordinary, because they lived by putting God and their neediest neighbours first, forgetting about themselves. Precisely because of this commonality of attitudes and because of their shared existence more or less at the same time in the same geographical area, many of them knew each other directly and cooperated – or at least, shared a part of the journey together. And for this reason many of them are also remembered, with relics and panels, in the Casa Don Bosco Museum at Valdocco in Turin.
(ANS – Rome) – It will touch 7 Italian regions, will actively involve 12 municipalities – including Genoa, Padua and Salerno - more than 140 middle and high schools and 5,600 students on the "2060" path that from January to June will allow girls and boys experience the conditions of discomfort caused by the climate crisis and the new environmental context.
(ANS – Rome) – The Civil Service with the Salesians is much more than a simple volunteer experience; it is a journey full of meaning, a journey that goes far beyond the individual contribution and is intertwined with the history of commitment and dedication of the Salesians themselves. With the new calls for applications, a total of 903 places are available, of which 830 are in Italy and 73 abroad.
Rome, Italy – January 2024 – A meeting of the Coordinating team for the National Office of Parishes and Oratories of the Italian Conference of Salesian Provinces (CISI) took place on 11 January. On the agenda was evaluation of the national seminar on the identity of the parish entrusted to the Salesians, held from 14 to 16 November 2023 in Rome. The programme was then planned to continue the reflection and study to be offered to the entire Salesian settings in Italy on this issue, and the study of the recent document on the oratory produced by the Youth Ministry Sector of the Salesian Congregation. At the end of the work, the Eucharist was celebrated at the altar of Mary Help of Christians in the church of the Sacred Heart: it was the way to celebrate the Bicentenary of the Dream at nine years of age as a National Office. It was, in fact, at that altar that Don Bosco understood the words spoken by the "Lady of stately Appearance" he saw in the dream: "In good time you will understand everything". It was 16 May 1887, and Don Bosco still had a few months to live.

WHAT A GIFT TIME IS!
THE MESSAGE OF THE VICAR OF THE RECTOR MAJOR,
Fr Stefano Martoglio, SDBThe beginning of the new year is illuminated in our liturgy by the ancient formula with which the Israelite priests blessed the people: "May the Lord bless you, and keep you. May the Lord show His face to you, and have mercy on you. May the Lord turn His countenance to you, and give you peace."
