Milan, Italy – April 2024 - Fr José Miguel Nuñez, in the name of the Rector Major, has begun the Extraordinary Visitation to the Salesian Province of Italy – Lombardo-Emiliana (ILE). On 13 April Fr José Miguel Nuñez met with the Provincial Council led by Fr Roberto Dal Molin, ILE Provincial. In the coming days Fr José Miguel Nuñez will visit the various houses of the Province.
Turin, Italy - April 2024 - The five gatherings of "Into the Heart of the World" held between 2023 and 2024 led 29 individuals to commit to embarking on a mission experience in August 2024. These participants included university students, young professionals, and Animators of Salesian Presences. Throughout these meetings, various topics were presented and discussed, spanning from economics and service to interculturality, with a focus on Salesian missionary spirituality. Motivated by a shared desire to choose a world to live in, that rejects the prevailing evils, the young men and women who participated in the course, facilitated by the Missionary Animation Team, will journey to Ngozi, Burundi; Nairobi, Kenya; Vilnius and Telsiai, Lithuania; and Bo, Sierra Leone. On April 7th, at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Valdocco, the Missionary Mandate for their upcoming departures was bestowed during a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Leonardo Mancini, the ICP Provincial.
Genzano di Roma, Italy - April 2024 - The 6th Provincial Chapter of the Salesian Vice Province of Central Italy (ICC), held at Casa Versiglia in Genzano di Roma from April 1st to 6th, 2024, concluded with a Eucharistic celebration led by its Superior Fr. Stefano Aspettati. It was primarily an encounter of fraternity, reaffirming the familial bonds among participants throughout each day: from prayer and the work of the Commissions to shared meals, leisure time, and discussions in the Assembly. This gathering fostered open and honest dialogue regarding consecration and mission, involving laypeople in service to youth. Three documents were drafted as reflections and contributions from the ICC Province for the 29th General Chapter, slated for early 2025 in Turin. Ahead of this, the Chapter engaged in discernment before selecting two Salesians, along with substitutes, to represent the Circumscription at the General Chapter: Fr. Roberto Colameo and Fr. Michelangelo Dessì, with Fr. Daniele Merlini and Fr. Emanuele De Maria as substitutes.
(ANS – Rome) – We have now reached the finale edition in the series "What kinf of Salesians for the youth of today?", on the Action Guidelines for the Salesian Congregation after the 28th General Chapter, something that has aroused great interest throughout the Salesian world – during this year alone views on these have reached about 10,000 people. On Saturday, 13 April 2024, Fr Flaviano D'Ercoli, Rrector of the Gerini Salesian House, Rome, will interview Dr. Anna Sansoni, Salesian Cooperator from the Salesian oratory in Siena. The theme of the meeting will be: "The presence of women in communities: Mamma Margaret today".
(ANS – Messina) – Creation, as our Common Home, requires more and more care, and it is necessary to respond to this challenge starting from an educational commitment: through the beauty and goodness of music, we can reach a deeper awareness of ecological spirituality. This was, in summary, the message launched during the pedagogical formation seminar that took place on 9 April at the San Tommaso Salesian Theological Institute in Messina. Turin, Italy – April 2024 - "Take your life in hand and make a masterpiece of it". This phrase of John Paul II drove the theme of the SYM Day held on 7 April 2024 in Valdocco: "Impossible things – thief of souls". And the approximately 500 young people and entertainers saw many impossible things: fire-eating men, works of art, incredible acrobatics... but how does God speak to us through passion, art, creativity and how can we use it to reach others, as Don Bosco did? To try to answer these questions, there was the testimony of three guests: Silvia, a painter formed in the Salesian Youth Movement who is establishing herself as a decorator of churches; Fr Gianmarco, a Salesian very skilled in juggling; Rocco, founder of the Giullari di Dio Association who through magic and clowning gives consolation to youngsters hospitalised in Piedmont hospitals. The participants experienced together another important moment of the day, the Eucharistic celebration with the delivery of the Missionary Mandate.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.
