Turin, Italy - September 2020 - Monday 7 September, in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Valdocco, during the Mass presided over by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, two Salesians from Belarus, Mark Naidzich and Mikhail Radzevich, belonging to the community of the theological studentate of Turin “Crocetta”, made their perpetual profession. The Eucharist was concelebrated by the Director of the Don Bosco International Institute, Fr Marek Chrzan, the ICP Provincial Vicar, Fr Michele Molinar, and various Salesians. At the end of the celebration, the Rector Major also participated in the celebration in the community of the studentate.

Mogliano Veneto, Italy - September 2020 - A group of about 60 high school children, together with the Salesians of the Proposta Community and the Astori Institute of Mogliano Veneto, belonging to the Salesian Province of the North-East (INE), not only animated children in their summer activities, but also lent their support less fortunate people, especially those affected by the pandemic. In compliance with anti-Covid-19 measures, they organized various working groups, carrying out the proposals of the summer centers with the “Open For Holidays” project. Another group carried out aid actions for the community of Mogliano Veneto and beyond in an experience called “La Santa Impresa”. In particular, food was collected for the populations of South America, with the "Mato Grosso" operation; various public places were reorganized and small tasks set out for private individuals. The efforts were rewarded with offers that were donated to the Mayor of Mogliano Veneto to distribute to the poor.

(ANS - Turin) –  The first two booklets of the series “Vivere Don Bosco – percorsi di visita e spiritualità” were presented on the solemn day on which the whole Salesian world celebrated the 205th anniversary of Don Bosco's birth. The event took place on the hill of the same name in the presence of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, his Vicar Fr Stefano Martoglio, of the Councilor for the Mediterranean Region, Fr Juan Carlos Pérez Godoy, of Fr Enrico Stasi and Fr Leonardo Mancini - who took turns these days at the helm of the Special Circumscription of Italy Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta.

Catania, Italy - August 2020 - The second edition of the Giò Beach Party was held at the Colonia Don Bosco, Playa di Catania. The event, promoted by the Salesian Youth Movement of Sicily, saw the participation of several animators of the Salesian houses. This year saw a reduced participation due to social distancing and measures for containing coronavirus. The event was broadcast in live streaming by the Social Communication team of the Salesians of Sicily. During the homily, Provincial Fr Giovanni D'Andrea emphasized: “We must be guided by the Gospel and not by the fashions of the time. It is necessary to be in the world with the mentality of the Christian, following the model of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarrello, and to watch over one's heart and thus become a leaven in the world.”

Turin, Italy - August 2020 - On 29 August, during the Eucharistic celebration in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Valdocco, the installation of the new Provincial of the Special Circumscription of Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta (ICP), Fr Leonardo Mancini, took place.

(ANS - Florence) - The summer campus 'Il filo di Arianna' is underway at the Don Bosco Institute of the Salesians in Florence. Itis organized by the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Tuscany with the contribution of the "Fondazione CR Firenze  (Red Cross)" and the Institute for Research, Training and Rehabilitation, Irifor. Eleven young people will participate until next Sunday: nine are visually impaired and two are blind. They come mostly from Florence, but also from Pistoia, Siena, Massa and Carrara. The Blind Union was able to carry out this social inclusion project for the fourth consecutive year thanks to the CR Firenze Foundation 'Summer together'.
