Myanmar - Meeting of the Salesian Youth Movement
Anisakan, Myanmar - February 2025 - On 2 February, an activity of the Salesian Youth Movement (MGS) was organised by the Salesian Youth Ministry Commission, under the supervision of delegate Fr Mariano Soe Naing, SDB. The programme led by Fr Paschal Thikoshin, SDB, as master of ceremonies, began at the shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Anisakan, Pyin Oo Lwin. About 150 young people joyfully and actively participated in the event. In his opening address, the Superior of the Salesian Vice-Province of Myanmar (MYM), Don Bosco Nyi Nyi, encouraged the young people to participate in the MGS with genuine love for the Movement and the Church. He also strongly advised young people to be agents of peace and unity among people, especially in digital environments. Fr Mariano Soe Naing then spoke briefly on the nature of the SYM and its distinctive features. At the end of his talk there was a question and answer session. The morning ended with a mass celebrated by Fr Bosco Nyi Nyi and concelebrated by 9 Salesian priests. In the afternoon, the young people gathered and enthusiastically shared their reflections, insights and experiences in small groups. Finally, several groups of young people presented their shows on stage.
