(ANS - Lombriasco) - The "ApiCultura" project in Lombriasco was established in October 2020 from a training course developed by "Net4Grow", a network of Salesian Agricultural Schools in the world, and the Salesian Agricultural School of Lombriasco, near Turin. The aim of the project was to bring beekeeping back to the benches of the Salesian agricultural school in Lombriasco, but with new themes, such as the safeguarding of the species, the importance for the care of the environment, the productive and innovative aspects that revolve around this world now in constant evolution.
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins humanitarian organizations and countries around the globe in recognizing World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. In 2013, United Nations member states adopted a resolution that designated July 30 as the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. The day aims to raise awareness about the victims of human trafficking and promote and protect their rights.
(ANS - Foggia) - At the Salesian house "Sacred Heart of Jesus" in Foggia, on Saturday 17 July, the Southern Salesian Province (IME) inaugurated "Casa Gio", the new Housing Community for minors in the presence and with the blessing of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, accompanied by three General Councilors: the Councilor for the Mediterranean Region, Fr Juan Carlos Pérez Godoy, the Councilor for the Interamerica Region, Fr Hugo Orozco, and the Regional Councilor for Central Europe and North, Fr Roman Jachimowicz.
(ANS - Turin) - For a man who is 80 years old, 60 as a Salesian brother, 46 as a missionary in Asia and Africa, there was certainly more than one moment in which what happened had the flavor of providential intervention of God the Father. This is the experience of Bro. Andrea Comino, a Salesian missionary, a pioneer of vocational training in Asia and Africa.
(ANS - Rome) - Yesterday, Wednesday 14 July, at the Salesian Headquarters in Rome, the Rector Major welcomed the mayor of Andria, Giovanna Bruno, a Salesian Cooperator. Marked by great cordiality, the visit was propitiated by Fr Juan Carlos Pérez Godoy, Councilor for the Mediterranean Region, who had had the opportunity to meet her during his Extraordinary Visitation made in recent months to the Southern Italy Province (IME).
(ANS - Rome) - The Basilica of Don Bosco in Rome, the capital's most populous parish, has recently received visits from important Salesian figures: the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, accompanied by other members of the General Council of the Congregation; and Msgr. Alberto Lorenzelli, SDB, auxiliary bishop of Santiago de Chile. Thanks to their presence and animation, the educative-pastoral community felt encouraged to continue in its focus and service to the needs of minors and their families, especially in these difficult times caused by the pandemic.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
