(ANS - Turin) - Yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 8 September, 2021, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians and Father and Center of Unity of the Salesian Family, inaugurated the two rooms of the "Don Bosco House Museum" in Turin, dedicated to the Saints, Blesseds, Venerables and Servants of God of the Salesian Family. “After 11 months, we've managed to complete these two rooms dedicated to the Salesian Family with precious articles of great significance,” commented Fr Á.F. Artime.
(ANS - New Rochelle) - "Salesian Missions", the Salesian Mission Office of New Rochelle, joins humanitarian organizations from all over the world to celebrate International Literacy Day. The latter, established in 1967, intends to recall the importance of education and literacy for a more sustainable society. In 2021, the chosen theme focuses on the digital divide and wants to highlight the challenges faced around the world to ensure education during the pandemic.
Catania, Italy - September 2021 - From 3 to 5 September, at the "Colonia Don Bosco" (The Don Bosco’s Colony) in Catania, the “Family Camp” of the Salesians of the Sicily Province (ISI) was held. For the fourth year in a row, the families of some Salesians had the opportunity to interact with each other and with the Salesians. Then two formative moments were organised, starting from the figure of Saint Joseph: the first led by Antonino Solarino and Rosaria Perricone, Salesian Cooperators of Ragusa; the second was conducted by Fr Giovanni D'Andrea, the provincial of ISI, who, referring to his own experience, gave the listeners a series of key words that summarized the concept of paternity in consecrated and/or priestly life: attentive love, affection, not being “candy-sweet” all the time. The Family Camp then moved into moments of group discussions, fraternal sharing, "Salesian good nights", leisure time and an Eucharistic celebrations. There were also special moments of prayer, the blessings of the fathers, the renewal of marriage vows for two couples, commemoration of the deceased family members and the renewal of the religious profession of 9 young Salesians.
(ANS – Castelnuovo Don Bosco) – The second week of the School of Salesian Accompaniment – 21 to 28 August, 2021 – was dedicated to a Spiritual Retreat. The School, which began at Valdocco, has now moved to Colle Don Bosco, where it will remain till its conclusion on 17th September.
(ANS - Rome) - A week full of significant commitments looms ahead for the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime; starting Wednesday 8 September until Saturday 11, 2021 Don Bosco's Xth Successor will be the protagonist of a series of events and celebrations that will see him traveling between Turin and Pordenone. The first and most important event takes place on Wednesday at the Casa Don Bosco Museum, where Fr Á.F. Artime shall inaugurate two rooms dedicated to the Saints, Blesseds, Venerables and Servants of God of the Salesian Family.
(ANS - Castel Gandolfo) - It was the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime who, during the Vespers on Wednesday 1 September, 2021, presided over the installation of the new Rector of the Salesian works and the community of Castel Gandolfo, namely Fr Tadeusz Rozmus, the former Councilor for the Central and Northern Europe Region in the last six-year term (2014-2020). And this was because of the decision taken by the General Council, to incorporate this Salesian house of Castel Gandolfo into the communities of the Rector Major (RMG), for which he is directly responsible.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
