(ANS - Omegna) - The civil and ecclesial community of Omegna (Verbania) holds dear the memory of its illustrious son Fr Andrea Beltrami, a Salesian of Don Bosco. Recurring this year is the centenary of the transfer of the mortal remains of the young Salesian priest from the cemetery of Omegna to the Collegiate Church of Sant'Ambrogio, which took place on 26 April 1921, on the occasion of the patronal feasts of San Vito; thus they wished to remember Fr Beltrami and his testimony as a man of hope and faith.

(ANS - Turin) - The Salesian Accompaniment School began on the evening of Monday 16 August in Valdocco, Turin, with a total of 16 Salesian participants, coming from 13 different Provinces. Originally, it was designed for a total of 21 participants, but the current regulations to combat the pandemic prevented some from being able to take part.

San Benigno Canavese, Italy - 24 July 2021 - On Saturday 24 July, in the historic institute opened by Don Bosco over 140 years ago in San Benigno Canavese, 185 Salesians met - in compliance with pandemic-related safety measures - for the feast of the Special Circumscription Italy Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta (ICP) for a moment of encounter and fraternity among all the religious present. The day's program included four phases: the conferral of jubilee certificates to 28 Salesians for religious profession and to 17 priests for the presbyterate; the Mass in the abbey of Fruttuaria, presided over by the Provincial, Fr Leonardo Mancini; the convivial moments prepared by the students and teachers of the catering school of the Vocational Training Center; and visits to the institute, laboratories and room of Don Bosco in Fruttuaria.

(ANS - Mornese) - Yesterday, Thursday 5 August 2021, the 149th anniversary of the foundation of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) took place. As per tradition, in Mornese, the birthplace of Mother Maria Domenica Mazzarello, Co-founder of the Institute, the perpetual professions of several FMA religious were celebrated during a Eucharist presided over by the Father and Center of Unity of the Salesian Family, the Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, in the presence of Mother General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Mother Yvonne Reungoat, and many other sisters.

Catania, Italy - August 2021 - The first edition of the “Joga Bonito” camp took place from 29 July to 1 August, always in compliance with the anti-Covid-19 regulations. Organized by the Salesian Youth Movement of Sicily in collaboration with the Salesian Youth Sports Clubs (PGS) of Sicily, the initiative took place at the "Colonia Don Bosco" in Catania, and saw the participation of 21 high school children, who followed a double itinerary: formation and sports. The formative part saw the children reflect on the figure of David and took place through meetings and activities, then concluded by a penitential liturgy and Mass presided over by Fr Franco Di Natale, Vicar of the Salesian Province of Sicily. Sports prevailed in the outdoor field with training sessions prepared by three PGS technicians, featuring mini-tournaments of football tennis, table football, table tennis and a quadrangular tournament on the last night, starting at 11.00 pm and ending around 7.00 the next morning. The initiative was fully experienced and enjoyed by all.

(ANS - Turin) - The "Museo Casa Don Bosco House Museum", a museum strongly desired by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, located in the heart of Turin-Valdocco, and inaugurated by him last October, is increasingly assuming its role as custodian and promoter of the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Salesian Family, and at the same time it also enhances its dimension of service to art and artistic fruition for the territory. An expression of all this is the inauguration of a space dedicated to the Saints and Blessed of the Salesian Family, and the exhibition "Lock art - Journey across the world via living room and kitchen", two events already scheduled from the beginning of next month.
