Turin, Italy - 11 September 2021 - On Saturday 11 September, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, visited the Technical Institute of the Salesians "Edoardo Agnelli" in Turin on the occasion of the inauguration of the new workshops. The new spaces are part of the renovation project called "Together We Build Future", launched in April 2021. It’s an important phase for the whole project of Agnelli, which this year celebrates its 80th anniversary.
(ANS – Pordenone) - The new edition of “Ascoltare, Leggere, Crescere ("Listen, Read, Grow”), Review meetings with Religious Publishing”, promoted by the “Eventi”, Association of Pordenone, with the patronage of the Department of Culture and Sport of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, an event now in its fifteenth year was presented to the press formally on Friday 10 September 2021 at the Don Bosco College of Pordenone.
(ANS - Rome) - The reception of the Chapter members participating in the XXIV General Chapter of the FMA Institute begins tomorrow, Saturday 11 September, at the Generalate of the Sisters Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) in Rome. After the days of prayer "Listening to the Holy Spirit", the Chapter will officially take place from Friday 17 September to the following 24 October, developing the theme: "'Do whatever He tells you' (Jn 2,5) - Communities that generate life in the heart of contemporaneity".
(ANS - Pordenone) - "The educational challenge in pandemic times" is the theme of the Lectio Magistralis that the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, shall offer tomorrow, Friday 10 September, 2021, in Pordenone, North Italy, as a preview of the 15th edition of “Ascoltare, Leggere, Crescere” promoted by the “Eventi” association of Pordenone and scheduled from 23 September to 2 October.
Genzano di Roma, Italy - September 2021 - On 8 September, in the parish dedicated to the Holy Trinity of Genzano in Rome, the Salesians Lorenzo Ciarapica (ICC), Claudio De Benedettis (IME) and Tiberio Lassandro (IME) made their first religious profession in the presence of Fr Juan Carlos Pérez Godoy, Councilor for the Mediterranean Region. The event was solemnized during a concelebrated mass, with Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councilor for Formation, Provincials of the newly professed Fr Stefano Aspizzati (ICC) and Fr Angelo Santorsola (IME) with many other Salesians.
Turin, Italy - 8 September 2021 - On Wednesday 8 September, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, inaugurated two rooms dedicated to the Saints, Blesseds, Venerables and Servants of God of the Salesian Family at the Casa Don Bosco Museum. The opening up of these two new rooms represents the completion of the definitive layout of the Don Bosco House Museum. Simultaneously, at the same museum, the inauguration of the temporary photographic exhibition "Lock art" took place, created in collaboration with ArtFullFrame. Fifteen photographers from all over the world, through their pictures, depict their vision of these pandemic time through their photographic artwork.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
