(ANS - Venice) - With the start of the 78th edition of the Venice International Film Festival (1-11 September 2021), a representative of the Salesian association "Cinecircoli Giovanili Socioculturali" (The Social Cultural Cinecircuit of the Young - CGS – APS) will also be present from Tuesday 31 August for their customary participation in the Festival itself and for the work of cultural animation linked to the critical cinema studies promoted within the Laboratorio Venezia Cinema (The Venezian Cinema Workshop).
(ANS - Vasto) - Fr Antonio Integlia is a Salesian from the Salesian Circumscription of Central Italy (ICC) and he is about to leave for Patagonia, a highly meaningful place for every missionary of Don Bosco. Fr Antonio will spend, for now at least, a year on Argentine soil to learn the language and integrate into the area's pastoral context. He will then be able to leave, properly as a missionary, in 2022. Yet, he says, with his soul he already feels ready.
Rome, Italy - August 2021 - On 28 August in the Basilica of San Giovanni Bosco in Cinecittà, four Salesians made their perpetual profession: Gabriele Maria Calabrese, Anthony Pamei, Matteo Sassano and Paolo Torella. The celebration was presided over by Fr Stefano Aspurati, Superior of the Salesian Circumscription in Central Italy (ICC).
Sondrio, Italy - August 2021 - From 23 to 25 August the Catechists of Schools, Vocational Education and Training and boarding schools from the Salesian Province of Italy - Lombardo-Emiliana (ILE) gathered in the Salesian House in Sondrio. The days were useful for the presentation of next year's Pastoral Project, but also for training in the accompaniment of young people and for discussing the evolution of the Local Pastoral Teams. Professor Susanna Bianchini, Guest Professor of Psychology at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, of the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome, intervened as formator.
Turin. Italy - August 2021 - The third stage of preparation for the perpetual profession of 12 young Salesians from the Italian Provinces took place between 15 and 21 August. The week of the spiritual exercises began with Don Bosco's birthday at Colle Don Bosco, then a spiritual retreat followed for five days in the Spirituality house of the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception of Ivrea in Andrate (TO), preached by Fr Raffaele Panno, former novice master in Genzano. The course ended on Saturday in Turin-Valdocco with a meditated visit to the Don Bosco House and Holy Mass with the renewal of profession in the church of San Francesco de Sales, remembering Don Bosco who celebrated Holy Mass there for his boys. Fr Marek Chrzan, Director of the Don Bosco "Crocetta" International Institute, oversaw the organization.
(ANS - Pordenone) - The 15th edition of the event "Ascoltare, Leggere, Crescere - Listen, Read, Grow", promoted by the EVENTS Association of Pordenone, will be presented to the press on Friday 10 September at 10 am at the Don Bosco Theater in Pordenone. The event will be officially opened with a lectio magistralis by the Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, which will be entitled "The educational challenge in a time of pandemic". As part of the event, moreover, on Thursday 9 September the Rector Major will be awarded the Seal of the City of Pordenone by City Mayor Alessandro Ciriani.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
