(ANS – Rome) – On October 1, 2021 the organizing committee of the Forum Salesianum met at the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome (Italy), in preparation for the biennial meeting at the end of next summer (August 2022).
(ANS - Rome) - "Missioni Don Bosco", the Salesian Mission Office of Turin, donated a bag and a bottle to the students of the "Mary Help of Christians" Institute in the city. Delivered before the start of classes last Monday, October 4, the two gifts are intended to be an incentive to raise awareness among students to respect the environment and be sensitive to the condition of children all over the world.
(ANS - Turin) – “Our Congregation of the Salesians of Don Bosco has the joy and responsibility of delivering, for the good of the whole Salesian Family in the world and for the pilgrims and tourists of the City of Turin, this new museum setting, completely renovated, but retaining its originality, to present Don Bosco's educational and spiritual adventure.” These were the words of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, at the inauguration of the "Don Bosco House Museum" one year ago, during the Press Conference at the inaugural ceremony before cutting the ribbon and officially opening to the public, on 4 October 2020.
(ANS - Rome) – Yet another great Salesian has reached the garden of Heaven: Fr Angelo Botta, a Salesian priest and missionary, who was a Provincial in Ecuador and the Secretary of three Rectors Major, died yesterday, Monday 4 October, in Rome. His funeral will be held on Wednesday 6 October 2021 at 11:00 (UTC + 2) in the Basilica of Sacred Heart in Rome.
(ANS - Rome) - The Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) gathered in Rome to participate in the FMA’s 25th General Chapter have elected Sr. Chiara Cazzuola, currently Vicar General, as Mother General of the Institute. Mother Cazzuola succeeds Mother Yvonne Reungoat, who led the Institute since 2008. Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians, present for the occasion, immediately congratulated the new Mother General.
(ANS - Castelnuovo Don Bosco) - On 1 October 2021, Fr Alfred Maravilla, General Councilor for the Missions, accompanied by Fr George Menamparampil, of the Missions Sector, met with Fr Gianni Rolandi, Rector of Colle Don Bosco, and Mrs. Letizia Pecetto, Don Bosco Ethnological Missionary Museum’s director. It was an opportunity for fraternal and fruitful exchange, to get to know the Museum better by the General Councilor, and in turn, to share the expectations of the Mission Sector on the Missionary Ethnological Museum. Fr Maravilla officially launched the survey organized by the Missions Sector on the Salesian Missionary Museums during this visit.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
