(ANS - Nizza Monferrato) - As part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), this year the traditional "Feast of World Recognition" of the FMA towards their Superior wants to be an expression of gratitude to the Lord for the generous yes of Mother Chiara Cazzuola to the service of animation and government in the Institute. The festivities to celebrate the anniversary will last three days - from April 24 to 26 - and will take place between Mornese, Nizza Monferrato, and Turin, the places of the origins of the FMA.
(ANS - Udine) - On Friday, April 29, the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella shall visit the Salesian Institute "G. Bearzi" in Udine. "The teachers are surprised, happy, and at the same time a little worried, because it is certainly not easy to organize such an appointment," commented Fr Lorenzo Teston. The Head of State's visit to the Salesian institute will serve as a commemoration of Lorenzo Parelli, the 18-year-old student who lost his life in an accident on January 21 while working in a factory. "From a tragic event like this, however, it is necessary to find a seed of hope for other people. And even the President's visit should be read in this way, as a sign of hope," adds Fr Teston.
(ANS - Vatican City) - Just as after a fast one eats more to recover lost energy, so St. Peter's Square, after abstinence from crowded celebrations due to the pandemic, was filled yesterday, Easter Monday, April 18, 2022, with a flood of Italian teenagers - about 100,000, according to estimates - who came on pilgrimage to Rome from all the dioceses of the peninsula. It was Pope Francis himself, with the simple and engaging language he uses with teens, who used the metaphor of fasting at the opening of his friendly and fatherly address to the participants.
(ANS - Civitavecchia) - For the sixth time in his pontificate, and for the first time since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Pope Francis celebrated Holy Thursday Mass in Coena Domini in a prison. Yesterday, April 14, 2022, after presiding over the Chrism Mass in St. Peter's Basilica in the morning, he did so at the Borgata Aurelia Penitentiary in Civitavecchia. In the course of the homily, delivered off the cuff, the Pontiff recalled that "God forgives everything and always", and that we are all called to mutual service and "without interest", personal gain or advantage.
Ivrea, Italy - April 2022 - On Palm Sunday, April 10, celebrations began at the Salesian Missionary Institute "Cardinal Cagliero" for the institute’s 130th anniversary. For the occasion, Fr Giorgio Degiorgi, Economer of the Special Circumscription of Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta (ICP), presided over the Mass, concelebrated by Fr Dante Pietrobon and Deacon Marco Cazzato. The day continued with moments of celebration, fraternal agape, and moments of play for all. The "Cagliero" Institute was founded in 1892 and refers to the famous figure of Cardinal Giovanni Cagliero, born in Castelnuovo d'Asti, a man who, following the footsteps of Don Bosco, dedicated his life to young people and missions.
