(ANS - Kampala) - The Salesian Family of the whole world has been touched by the message of the Rector Major of February 2019 entitled: "For 125 dollars more. The most splendid and precious money I have ever seen." This message speaks of the generosity of the young poor in Kampala and of the South Sudanese refugees who are in the refugee camp of Palabek. Here is the story of the two Salesian communities, protagonists of this generosity.

(ANS - Ouagadougou) - It's a hot day on February 15, 2019, in Nohao, in the province of Boulgou, in Burkina Faso. Three Salesians arrive at the customs office, coming from Lomé, Togo, for the Ouagadougou mission, where an armed group of guerrillas had already killed government officials. The attackers take control of the Salesians' car and call the older religious aside. The guerillas speak to each other in a low voice and lead the priest into the forest. Three shots are heard. Only the guerrillas return; they put their noisy motorcycles in motion and leave a cloud of dust behind them. And on the land of Burkina Faso lies the body of the Salesian Fr Antonio César Fernández.

(ANS - Lima) - A few days ago, on 6 February, it was the anniversary of the death of Fr Luis (Luigi) Bolla, SDB. His memory, even with the passage of time, is still alive among the people for whom he spent his life. Fr Bolla spent over 50 years among the indigenous peoples, in an inhospitable area, difficult to access and in very harsh conditions, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.
