(ANS – Kigali) – The third day of the Team Visit to the Salesian Region of Africa-Madagascar was marked by two highly significant moments: in the morning, the reflection on Youth Ministry offered by the General Councillor, Fr Miguel Angel García Morcuende; in the afternoon, the touching visit to the 1994 Genocide Memorial.
(ANS - La Spezia) – A “Ferry” to go beyond the storm and navigate more calmly: for 15 years the Il Traghetto (the ferry)" Day Centre in La Spezia has been doing this kind of work with young people from 6 to 18 years old, all with difficult family situations. Il Traghetto, managed by the Il Galeone APS Association, associated with Salesians for Social APS, was dreamed up and founded in 2009 by Fr Antonio Integlia, a Salesian, now a missionary in Patagonia, within the Salesian work at La Spezia.
(ANS – Anaheim) – The Archdiocese of Los Angeles has gathered Church and catechetical leaders for the annual Religious Education Congress for over fifty years. This three-day gathering is an expo of faith formation, catechetical training, special events, prayer, and the exhibition of numerous organizations and vendors for the renewal of those who serve the catechetical mission of the Church. Supporting this extraordinary experience of the Church, the Salesians of Don Bosco, St. Andrew’s Province, USA West, has maintained and developed a Congress exhibit booth for over 30 years. Intending to share the educational philosophy of St. John Bosco, the booth offers visitors various ways to learn and experience Don Bosco’s preventive system.
(ANS – Kigali) – Wednesday, 21 February 2024 was a special day for participants in the Team Visit to the Salesian Africa-Madagascar Region, still underway at Gatenga, in Kigali, Rwanda. The day began with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians, in which the assembly prayed for Fr Jésus Benoît Badji, Superior of the Province of North West Africa (AON), whose birthday was celebrated. After two intense and rich work sessions, the day was enlivened by the visit of Cardinal Antoine Kambanda, Archbishop of Kigali.
(ANS - Vatican City) - The entire universal Church is preparing for the Holy Year of 2025, a Jubilee year in which each person can realize and experience even more powerfully, that God's holiness is able to transform the life of every person. Although all the faithful will be able to receive the grace of the Jubilee in the myriad of initiatives that will be carried out in dioceses around the world, there will certainly be many pilgrims who will travel to Rome for the occasion, to meet the Successor of Peter. As in the past, the organizing committee of the Jubilee 2025 has planned specific moments to experience and celebrate the Jubilee pilgrimage in the various groups and social segments.
