Born on 30 October 1981 in Verviers, near Liège, Belgium, Fr Ernst Xavier made his Salesian novitiate in Spain, in Cartuja, Granada, in 2004-2005, making his first vows on 16 August 2005. While carrying out his initial formation, including at the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) in Rome, he made his perpetual vows in Liège, on 8 October 2011, and received his priestly ordination on 20 May 2013, in the same city.
After ordination, he served for four years in the Salesian community of Liège, then, from 2016 to today, he worked in France, in the Parisian Pyrénées and Monte Cristo communities, where he has worked since 2019 and where he is currently Vice-Provincial and Parish Priest.
Provincial Councillor uninterruptedly from 2016 to date, he was Delegate for Formation from 2018 to 2020, and in 2017 he became Delegate for Youth Ministry, which he still is.
He also graduated in Social Service Science and will take up the position of FRB Provincial, succeeding Fr Daniel Federspiel.
