(ANS – Madrid) – The tenth edition of the Salesian Communication Days was held on Thursday 29 February and Friday 1 March 2024 at the Salesian house of Atocha, in Madrid. It was entitled "Artificial Intelligence. Keys and challenges of a new frontier", a theme that aroused great interest among the hundreds of participants, shedding light on how it is possible to advance in this new communication paradigm from the Salesian point of view, at the service of education and the "Good News" of the Gospel.
(ANS – Lisbon) – The new year has brought several innovations in Social Communication St Anthony Province of Portugal, including a completely renewed Salesian Bulletin: new titles, new collaborations and a new layout, to begin with. But also environmental sustainability innovations, such as the use of 100% recycled paper and vegetable inks for the printed version.
(ANS – Thiruvananthapuram) – “Many things we need can wait. The child cannot. Now is the time his bones are formed, his mind developed. To him we cannot say tomorrow, his name is today” (Gabriela Mistral). Quoted by both Mr Manoj Kumar (Chairperson- Kerala State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights- KSCPCR), and Fr George PS (Executive Director–BREADS), as they stressed the need for urgent concerted action to prevent the ever-increasing substance use among children and youth in Kerala. KSCPCR and BREADS were the joint organisers of a significant State-level Stakeholders’ Workshop on 29 February 2024, in Thiruvananthapuram, which facilitated the active participation of 178 stakeholders from various government departments and NGOs. They had all assembled to discuss the status of substance use among the youth in Kerala, and the measures needed to address the issue.
(ANS – Los Angeles) – In a world filled with challenges and uncertainties, the importance of empowering young people to be co-responsible for our mission has never been more evident. Last week, this vision came to life as ten inspiring youth leaders shared their experiences of being part of a Catholic Church infused with the Salesian charisma at the University Series. This program seeks to accompany people during Lent.
(ANS – Quito) – The Sacred Heart of Jesus Province of Ecuador (ECU) and the Ecuadorian Corporation for the Development of Research and Academy (CEDIA, in Spanish) signed an agreement on 28 February for access to an advanced research network that will benefit Salesian Educational Centres (CES, in Spanish) in the country.
