(ANS - Corumbá) - On Saturday, March 9th, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians, made a visit to the city of Corumbá. There, he was honored by local authorities and warmly received by the entire community, especially the youth who frequent the local Salesian home. The day's festivities included the conferral of honorary citizenship and a solemn Mass held at the church-sanctuary dedicated to Mary Help of Christians.
(ANS - Campo Grande) - The Animation Visit of Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, the Rector Major, to the "St. Alphonsus Maria de' Liguori" Province of Brazil-Campo Grande (BCG) continued on March 7th and 8th, 2024. During this time, a series of events and activities were held, fostering a stronger sense of communion and unity among the Sons of Don Bosco in that Province.
(ANS – Bethlehem) – On Tuesday, 27 February the Salesians in Bethlehem went to the nearby University to extend a welcome to the new Vice-Chancellor (Rector), Brother Héctor Hernán Santos González, a De la Salle brother originally from Paraguay. It was a courtesy visit, but also one to plan and renew commitments to the education of young people in the area.
(ANS – Vallecrosia) – The real estate confiscated from organised crime has been officially handed over to the community; a real estate complex located in the municipality of Bordighera, which will be used on behalf of disabled children, and a part of agricultural land located in the municipality of Vallecrosia, which will serve to promote courses for young people at the Don Bosco Institute and the Salesian Vocational Training Centre to acquire the skills also useful for job opportunities in agriculture, will be allocated for social purposes.
(ANS – Rome) – While the technology and tools of communication always require constant updating, there is something that remains unchanging: these are the ethical principles to be adopted in the service of communication. "Shaping Tomorrow", the Communication 2024 Conference scheduled to take place from 1 to 7 August 2024 at the facilities of the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) in Rome, cannot, as a Salesian event, fail to include within it a specific focus on the ethics of communication.
(ANS – Rome) – The Salesian Missionary Volunteer program meeting, a collaborative effort between the Mission Sector and Youth Ministry Sector, has commenced with two days of profound engagement and learning. Participants from around the world have gathered to deliberate on the Salesian congregation's volunteer programs, with more updates anticipated as the meeting unfolds.
