(ANS - Rome) - Today, 1 April 2024, is the 90th anniversary of the canonization of Don Bosco, done by Pope Pius XI on 1 April 1934, the Easter day itself, to unite Don Bosco with the glory of the Risen Christ, at the conclusion of the Holy Year of the Redemption, called by the same Pope Pius XI to celebrate the 1900 years of the Redemption, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

(ANS – Urnieta) – The Extraordinary Visitation by Fr Fabio Attard to Spain’s St James the Greater Province  (SSM) has continued in March. In recent days he visited the Salesian houses of Logroño, Pamplona, Urnieta, Donostia, Azkoitia and Madrid-Estrecho, meeting with the Salesian Family, lay people with positions of responsibility in the different sections, parish councils, Salesian family groups and young people from Salesian schools and youth centers. In Pamplona, he also met the Archbishop of Pamplona and Tudela, who has just begun his service for the diocese.

(ANS - Francova Lhota) – A significant jubilee is being commemorated in 2024: the 50th anniversary of the death of Cardinal Štěpán Trochta, one of the most important figures of the Czech Salesian Family and of the entire Czech Church. His legacy not only remains in history, but is also alive in the present as confirmed by the numerous events prepared to commemorate this anniversary.

(ANS – Valencia) – Since the end of March 2024, the "Ángel Tomás Solidarity Initiative" Foundation has been renamed "FISAT Salesianos Social", a name change that does not affect the essence of the organisation.

(ANS – Rome) – "The protocol signed on 27 March is a sign of fundamental importance that expands the network between associations and institutions to cultivate a correct culture of legality among young people, especially those at risk," said Cardinal Augusto Paolo Lojudice, honorary president of the Fonte d 'Ismaele association, one of the five associations involved in the "Free to Choose" project aimed at removing family members and especially minors from "criminal" contamination.

(ANS – Onitsha) - The Salesian Hostel in the Don Bosco community of Onitsha, located in the Anambra State of Nigeria, has the support needed for a new roof project thanks to donor funding from Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco. While the roof is not yet completed, the funding helped pay for construction of roof beams, fabrication of the iron trusses, and connection, fixing and anchorages of the structural steel works.
