The new name implies a change of corporate identity with the aim of unifying the brand of the Salesian social entities in Spain’s Mary Help of Christians Province (SMX). "In this way, we join the path already started by the ‘Don Bosco Salesianos Social Foundation’ and which will soon be started by the ‘Sant Jordi’ Salesians – explain the Foundation in a statement that encourages the spread of this new brand – With the name change, we wanted to strengthen the Salesian identity, adding the ‘surname’ Social Salesians, to the original name of each entity. An added value to the brand that we hope will help position us as social organisations of reference, as is the case for other Salesian settings (schools, parishes, youth centre)."
In the statement they add that Ángel Tomás, the illustrious Salesian to whom they wanted to pay tribute over these 15 years since the creation of the Foundation, will never be forgotten, "because he has been and will continue to be an example of dedication and vocation for the most disadvantaged young people."
From the Foundation they also say that "His name will always be linked to the Foundation through the acronym FISAT, which identifies us so much, and through the numerous projects that came about with his name, such as Piso Ángel Tomás or PAE Ángel Tomás, both in Villena his hometown. As well as in the ATÈS (Ángel Tomás Espai Social, in Spanish) where community development, socio-occupational integration and specialized psychosocial assistance projects are located."
The figure of Ángel Tomás, in fact, defines the entity's style of action.
Finally, it is announced that the entity will incorporate this new brand while maintaining the same physical and virtual spaces such as the website and social channels, under the name @fundacionFISAT.
