(ANS – Rome) – With the Decree of the Rector Major (May 31) the Pacific Delegation of the AUL province was officially established. The official start of the three country Delegation (Fiji – Samoa – New Zealand) within the Australia-Pacific province will be on 1 January 2017 with the first Delegate in office.

(ANS - Würzburg) - One hundred years of youth, commitment, education and evangelization in the style of Don Bosco - these are the reasons for the festival in Würzburg, the Mother House of the Salesians in Germany. About a thousand people gathered for the three-day celebration, drawn by the joy of sharing the dream of Don Bosco today. The Successor of Don Bosco, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, came from Rome and presided at the festivities.

(ANS - Madrid) - The social project "First Professional Experience", run by the Pinardi Association and funded by the JP Morgan Chase Foundation, in its first year has improved the possibilities for employment of 90 young people. Thanks to its innovative model, through which the young participants acquire skills and work experience in large companies such as Cardamomo, Accenture Foundation, Grupo Vips, Hilton Madrid Airport, KFC, Meliá Hotels International, Parques Reunidos, Serunion and UPS, more than 65% of the participants of the first course have been granted an employment contract.

(ANS - Quito) - According to the Ecuadorian Institute of Statistics and Census, in Ecuador there are about 360 thousand children and adolescents aged 5 to 17 working on the street. Although child labour has decreased in recent years, it is known that behind this reality there are issues of domestic abuse and gangs that force children to sell, play instruments or juggle on buses and at street corners. To mark International Children’s Day the Foundation of the Salesian Project "Chicos de la Calle" celebrated with around 1,700 children.

(ANS - Rome) - Venerable Dorothy De Chopitea, wife and mother of six children, was the first Salesian Cooperator whose cause for beatification was introduced. She was one of the very few people whom Don Bosco called “mamma”.  She was truly a mother to everyone, always ready to help. No fewer than 31 foundations were started thanks to her generosity.

(ANS - Würzburg) - In 2016, the Salesian Family in Germany is celebrating a special anniversary. ​​Exactly 100 years ago, in 1916, at the height of World War I, the first house of the Salesians of Don Bosco in the Germany of today was founded in Würzburg. For this reason the Salesians of the German Province are celebrating this important anniversary with a big party that will take place 3-5 June, precisely where the mission began in Wurzburg.
