(ANS – Campo Grande) – On Tuesday 24 September 2024, the Regional Councillor for America South Cone, Fr Gabriel Romero, began the Extraordinary Visitation to the Salesian St Alphonsus Liguori Province of Campo Grande, Brazil (BCG), arriving at the São José house, the administrative headquarters of the Province.
(ANS – Rome) – "Walking together: Changing to continue" is the motto and also the guideline that will accompany the work of the Extraordinary World General Assembly of the World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco, scheduled from Wednesday 2 October 2024 until the following Sunday, 6 October, and which will symbolically take place at the Mother House of the entire Salesian Family, in Valdocco, Turin. The event, the ultimate sign of the unity of the Association of Past Pupils of Don Bosco, the largest group in the Salesian Family in terms of numbers, is attended by about 200 people, representing 40 countries from five continents.
(ANS – Turin) – "This moment of faith is a very great moment: the prayer of this assembly gathered here is a celebration of God's action and of gratitude for the Spirit's action in your hearts, brothers and sisters, for your vocation, among those of the Salesian Family and of the Church." The homily at the Mass of the 155th Salesian Missionary Expedition began with these words by Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Stefano Martoglio.
(ANS – Bangalore) – “Kristu Jyoti College”, Bangalore, in collaboration with the Pontifical Salesian University, Rome, hosted the annual college seminar on Public Theology, Mission, and Artificial Intelligence: Prospects and Challenges on September 17-18. The event brought together faculty and students to reflect on the evolving nature of public theology, its relevance in the modern world, and the increasing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in education and evangelization.
