(ANS – Corrientes) – The Don Bosco Básquet Club, located in the city of Corrientes, Argentina, is a fast-growing sports and formation project. Started in 2015 as a mini-basketball school, it now competes on a par with the city's traditional clubs. But beyond the results obtained on the field, the club stands out for a much more significant mission: to form people on the basis of the Salesian charism.
(ANS – New Delhi) – Echoing Pope Francis’s call to walk alongside migrant brothers and sisters as they journey toward a better future, the Archdiocese of Delhi, in collaboration with the CCBI and DCA Commission of Migrants, celebrated the 110th World Day of Migrants and Refugees on September 29 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, New Delhi.
(ANS – Rome) – The screening of the docu-film "Resurrection" last Saturday, 28 September 2024, dedicated to the legacy of the Salesian Fr John Lee Tae-seok (1962-2010), a South Korean missionary in present-day South Sudan, was a great success and was watched by many people. In the presence of numerous authorities, including Card. Lazarus You Heung-sik, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Clergy and Card. Ángel Fernández Artime, a ceremony took place that was no mere cinematic presentation, as was observed in the circumstance, but one that "celebrated life" in the fullest sense, underlining the value of those who spend their lives in the service of others in difficulty. There was also a large and beautiful participation of many Korean faithful and religious.
(ANS – Rome) – In Valdocco and Colle Don Bosco, where so much Salesian history and fidelity has passed, the Salesian Youth Synod studied a proposal for the entire Salesian world. This was done by 375 people, mostly young people belonging to 94 nationalities, boys and girls of an average age of 23, from many nations, with different cultures and languages, but all with the same faith and the same intense commitment to the work started by Don Bosco.
(ANS – Rome) – In preparation for General Chapter 29 (GC29), scheduled in Valdocco, Turin from 16 February to 12 April 2025 on the theme "PASSIONATE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST, DEDICATED TO YOUNG PEOPLE. Living our Salesian vocation faithfully and prophetically ", the Pre-Chapter Commission undertook a journey of listening and prayer, to collect and order the numerous proposals received from Salesians around the world.
(ANS – Chennai) – The Salesian Province of Chennai organized a timely refresher course on spiritual direction as part of its commitment to ongoing formation. Held from September 23 to 27, 2024, at the Don Bosco Skill Mission campus in Bangalore, the program brought together 28 spiritual directors. Facilitated by the Don Bosco Renewal Centre (DBRC), Bangalore, the course aimed to deepen the understanding and practice of spiritual direction among the Salesians.
