(ANS – Rome) – Registration is officially open for the Salesian Family Spirituality Days 2025, which will be held in Turin from 16 to 19 January. The 43rd edition of this annual event brings together hundreds of members of the groups of the spiritual family originated by Don Bosco and offers them, starting from the guiding theme of the Strenna, an intense experience of sharing spirituality, charisms, fraternity and experiences with and for young people.
(ANS – Los Angeles) – On October 16, 2024, the Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival (DBGYFF) brought a powerful wave of inspiration and reflection to St. Dominic Savio Church in Bellflower, USA. This year’s festival was a vibrant example of how storytelling and film can unite young minds and ignite meaningful change in the world.
(ANS – Naigaon) – A robust film-making course was initiated at Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Naigaon (East), Palghar District, Maharashtra, India. About 25 students from grades 8 – 12 enrolled for the program. Father Joaquim Fernandes SDB, Vice Principal of Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Naigaon East, conducted the Film Making Course and was assisted by Teacher - Mentor, Gail Fernandes.
(ANS – New York) - The Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival (DBGYFF) 2024 has reached its most dynamic phase, with screenings of shortlisted films happening simultaneously at over 320 venues across the globe. The first day of the festival kicked off in numerous locations, in many countries bringing together young voices from different parts of the world to shed light on one of the most urgent challenges of our time—environmental protection.
(ANS – Rome) – A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Salesian Historical Institute (ISS) and the Editorial Board of the "Ricerche Storiche Salesiane" journal took place on Friday 11 October at the facilities of the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) in Rome, The following day, the ISS Assembly was held at the same venue.
(ANS – Madrid) – Misiones Salesianas, the Salesian Mission Office based in Madrid, Spain, reiterates its commitment to the fight against poverty. More than 1.3 billion people in the world live below the poverty line and more than 700 live in conditions of extreme poverty. On the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, which is celebrated today, 17 October, the Salesian institution declares: "Our tool is education".
