(ANS – Monrovia) – Fr Angel Fernandez Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, arrived to a grand welcome at Roberts’ International Airport, Monrovia, Liberia today (2 February). He was received at the airport by the rectors of the two communities in Monrovia, and by Mr Lawrence Felix Amajie, Deputy Chief of Protocol, Republic of Liberia, young people, and representatives from the Salesian parish.
(ANS - Baku) - The Feast of Don Bosco was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Baku, in Azerbaijan, one of the frontier outposts of the mission of the Salesian Congregation. A symbol of the care of the Congregation for this mission on the periphery was the presence of Fr Tadeusz Rozmus, Regional Councillor for Central and Northern Europe. He made a three-day visit to coincide with the Feast of Don Bosco and to animate the Salesian Family in the country.
(ANS – Long Beach) – On Wednesday, January 27, St. John Bosco High School students visited Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Students are part of the Biomedical Pathway at St. John Bosco High School. During their course of study, students gain exposure to many of the major concepts of human medicine and aspire to pursue higher education leading to a career in health care.
(ANS - Freetown) - On the evening of Sunday 31 January, the Rector Major met the Salesian Cooperators and the Past Pupils of Don Bosco, and spoke of his joy at the celebration of the Eucharist that morning. Yesterday, Monday 1 February, the Rector Major went to the beach with the Confreres from Sierra Leone and held a dialogue with them.

So said the Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime to the Past Pupils of Don Bosco. "There are about 100,000 members worldwide. They are lay people who have taken on responsibly their task in the Church and in society, becoming light of the world and salt of the earth" says Fr José Pastor Ramírez, World Delegate for the Past Pupils.
(ANS – Cebu City) – Ha concluido el pasado domingo 31 de enero en Cebu City el 51° Congreso Eucarístico Internacional. En la misa de clausura, en la localidad de “South Road Properties”, el Delegado Pontificio para esta ocasión, el cardenal Charles Maung Bo, SDB, ha subrayado la importancia de la familia en la sociedad, el papel de las Filipinas como faro de evangelización para el tercer milenio y la centralidad de la Eucaristía en la vida de la Iglesia y de todos los fieles.
