(ANS - Pinar Quemado) – The Salesian Province of the Antilles (ANT) successfully held the 4th Salesian Edu-communication Conference from 25 to 27 October in Pinar Quemado, Jarabacoa. With the theme "Educating and evangelising in the digital environment", the event brought together educators, communicators and Salesian leaders all committed to strengthening the mission of evangelisation and education in the dynamic digital environment.
(ANS – Rome) – The "Corso Respiro" which started on 12 September 2024 at Colle Don Bosco, ended on 26 October in Rome. Sixteen Salesians took part, three Sisters of Charity of Jesus (SCG), two Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (MSMHC), two Sisters of the Visitation of Don Bosco (VSDB), and a Salesian Cooperator, a total of 24 participants from Pakistan, Turkey, Tanzania, Samoa, South Sudan, Nigeria, India, the Philippines, Japan, Eritrea, Cambodia, Brazil, Botswana, Azerbaijan. The course, in English, was organised by the Missions Sector, coordinated by Fr Reginaldo Cordeiro.
(ANS – Rome) – For 16 years, the Corsa dei Santi has gathered athletes and running enthusiasts on 1 November every year in an initiative that celebrates sport, honours the Solemnity of All Saints and supports international solidarity. This year the sports event through the historic centre of Rome seeks to highlight the project of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Ukraine to support, through sport, the morale and education of children and young people who remain in the country, as well as the social reintegration of those who have been disabled and mutilated by war.
(ANS - Esmeraldas) – Youth attending programs at the Salesian Madre del Salvador Center, in the Santa Marta neighborhood in the Parish of La Merced, Ecuador, have a new recreation and sports area thanks to donor funding from Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco. Youth and their families in the area live in situations of vulnerability, poverty and danger from violence due to gangs and drug trafficking. Located on the Esmeraldas River, the area also suffers from flooding and high pollution.
(ANS – Vatican City) – “Dilexit nos,” Pope Francis’ fourth Encyclical, retraces the tradition and relevance of thought on “the human and divine love of the heart of Jesus Christ,” calling for a renewal of authentic devotion to avoid forgetting the tenderness of faith, the joy of serving, and the fervour of mission.
