(ANS - Rome) - On Sunday 28th January 2024, the Fourth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, blessed and inaugurated the new Chapel of the Word of God at the Salesian Headquarters - which has undergone extensive renovation work in recent months. It was a very simple and at the same time a meaningful rite, during which the community of the Salesian Headquarters could rejoice in the dedication of this space for prayer, and a space for fraternal communion at the table of the Divine Word.
RMG – "Don Bosco among us": the Province of Recife is preparing to welcome Cardinal Fernández Artime
(ANS – Rome) – Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime will spend the last feast of Don Bosco in his term as Rector Major in Recife. The 10th Successor of Don Bosco is preparing to reach the St Aloysius Gonzaga Province of Northeastern Brazil to carry out an animation visit to the Salesians and the local Salesian Family from 29 January to 4 February. "Don Bosco among us" is the significant motto chosen for this visit.
(ANS – Pamplona) – The President of the Parliament of Navarre, Unai Hualde, inaugurated the "La vida en una malta" (Life in a suitcase) exhibition in recent days. A collection of photographs coordinated by the Salesian Mission Office, Madrid, "Misiones Salesianas" and under the direction of Edu León, the exhibition brings the viewer into the reality of millions of people, especially children and women, fleeing the war in Ukraine.
(ANS – Sliema) – On the occasion of the feast of Francis de Sales on January 24th, the Salesians in Malta organized a national symposium titled "Echoes of a Dream: Mapping Education and Residential Care as Envisioned by Don Bosco, Guided by Listening, Empowerment, and Resilience in Trauma-Informed Settings." This symposium not only commemorated the 120th anniversary of the establishment of St. Patrick’s Salesian School & Residential Care in tas-Sliema, Malta but also represented a renewed commitment to the institution's guiding dreams for the well-being of vulnerable children.
(ANS – Turin) – The dream that young John Bosco had at the age of nine changed his life and, over time, changed the lives of thousands of young people in the different Salesian presences. For this reason, the Casa Don Bosco Museum has launched a photographic competition so that all those who want to participate share a piece of life, their own perspective from an artistic point of view on how Don Bosco's dream became a reality in Salesian presences.
