(ANS – Vatican City) – Pope Francis writes a letter to young people to accompany a new edition of the YOUCAT, or “Youth Catechism of the Catholic Church”, and invites them to find the secret to a joyful life in living with and for Christ.

(ANS – Turin) – There are only a few days left until 31 January, the day of the Solemnity of St John Bosco which, in 2024, will take place under the banner of the commemoration of the bicentenary of the Dream at Nine Years of Age. For the occasion, both the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin and Colle Don Bosco have prepared a rich program to pay homage to the Saint of the Young.

(ANS – Chambéry) – The opening session took place for the canonical recognition and preservation of the mortal remains of Venerable Camille Costa de Beauregard on Tuesday, 16 January 2024, at the chapel of the Bocage Foundation in Chambéry. (ANS – Rome) – The Communication Conference 2024, entitled “Shaping Tomorrow” will be held from 1-7 August 2024 at the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) in Rome this is a combined initiative of the Salesian Congregation’s Communication sector and the Faculty of the Sciences of Social Communication at the UPS.

(ANS - Turin) - On the evening of Monday, 22 January, Fr Francesco Motto, the 76 years old Director Emeritus of the Salesian Historical Institute, and author of several researches and books, explained his perspective of the dream of Don Bosco at the age of nine, at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, Turin. He underlined it as an authentic call from God made in 1824 to a child, and recounted fifty years later, in a more refined and matured language. He considers it as “a summary script of an entire existence spent for the new generations in the name of Jesus and Mary”. Seen by this historian, Don Bosco's 'dream at the age of nine' has the contours of true facts and effuses an evocative power of a literary page.

(ANS – Rome) – In the year in which the entire Salesian Family focuses on Don Bosco's Dream at Nine Years of Age, many other small dreams are arising in the Salesian world, carried out by those who call on him for the education and evangelisation of young people. This explains, for example, the new initiative that is being developed at Sacred Heart in Rome: the first Salesian Symphony Orchestra (OSS), a project, moreover, still in its embryonic phase, but which has already received the blessing and explicit support of Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians.
