Fr Colameo was born in Rome on 8 September 1964 and has known the Salesian world since his aspirantate in Genzano. He made his novitiate in Lanuvio and has been a Salesian of Don Bosco since 1 October 1984. After professing perpetual vows in Civitavecchia on 23 September 1990, he became a priest on 31 October 1992 in his hometown.
He lived in Rome’s St Peter’s community and later the Sacred Heart community. In 1999 he obtained a licentiate in Dogmatic Theology from the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) in Rome and in 2000 a licentiate in Liturgy from the St Anselm Pontifical Liturgical Institute.
He was Rector and Parish Priest of the Latina community (2002-2006); Rector and Parish Priest of Rome’s Santa Maria della Speranza community, adjacent to the UPS (2008-2011); Rector of the community in Florence (2011-2014); and since 2019 Rector and Parish Priest of the Don Bosco Church community in Rome.
He also carried out various responsibilities at the sectoral level: he was Delegate for Youth Ministry (1997-2002), Vice-Provincial (2001-2004), then Economer (2006-2008) for the then Roman Province (IRO) . For the ICC District he served in the provincial teams for Parishes and Oratories (2009-2011) and then again as Economer (2014-2019).
