Cuenca, Ecuador - August 2016 - The Ninth National Meeting of the Salesian Family took place from 11 to 15 August at the Salesian House of Baguanchi, in Cuenca. Seventy-four representatives of the various branches of Salesian Family took part. The primary purpose of the meeting was "to ensure unity of Spirit and convergence in the mission."

Suzano, Brazil - The Olympics are coming to an end, but the Salesians have been well represented at this great celebration of sport. For example, Adalberto Barbosa, a teacher of Physical Education at the Salesian School of St Teresa in São Paulo, carried the Olympic Torch through the streets of Suzano on 26 July. With an essay entitled “Love for Sport, Education for Life" he had won a competition sponsored by one of the sponsors of the event. "While I carried the torch,” he said, “I felt with me my family, friends, the school and all the past pupils ...".

Piracicaba, Brazil - August 2016 - As part of his Extraordinary Visit to the Salesian Province of Brazil-San Paolo, the Councillor for the American Southern Cone Region, Fr Natale Vitali, met the Missionary Animation Group in Piracicaba. This group is made up of more than 100 young past pupils or final-year students of the Salesian institute.
