Bamako, Mali - November 2016 – A project started in November to build five small chapels in some villages outside the capital, Bamako, which still do not have a place of prayer. Up to now the people have been gathering beneath large trees for liturgical celebrations. On 16 November the first chapel was blessed.
Makati, Philippines - November 2016 - As part of the Salesian Mission Day 2016 the Province of the Northern Philippines held an overnight camp for Salesian Missionary Volunteers. The guest speaker was Fr Alfred Maravilla from the Sector for the Missions.
Hyderabad, India - November 2016 - As the last stop on his tour in South Asia Salesian Region, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, is now visiting the Province of India-Hyderabad. On 16 November, the Tenth Successor of Don Bosco met with the Provincial Council. Today, 17 November, he met about 700 young people and told them: "You are the hope and future of society, you have an important role to make it better. Be happy and make others happy."
Havana, Cuba - November 10th 2016 - The placing of a bust of the Servant of God José Vandor in the embassy of the Republic of Hungary in Cuba is a sign of the Christian values that bind this Salesian priest not only to Cuba, the land where he lived for 40 years, but also to his native land of Hungary. András Drexler, Hungary's ambassador to Cuba, and Bishop Arturo González Amador of the Diocese of Santa Clara presided at the opening ceremony and blessing in the presence of Archbishop Giorgio Lingua, Apostolic Nuncio to Cuba, Archbishop. Juan Garcia, archbishop of Havana, representatives of the Salesian Delegation of Cuba, diplomats, religious and Hungarians who live in the island.
