Guwahati, India - August 2016 – On 12 and 13 August the Salesian Institute in Tura held an initiative to raise awareness of social responsibility and service to the needy by providing free eye-tests and inviting people to donate blood. Over 400 people showed up to give blood, while the medical team examined more than 200 patients, promising free cataract operations for those who needed them.

Chennai, India - August 2016 - From 7 to 27 August dozens of young people from the Chennai area are taking part in a 90-minute performance of traditional arts entitled "Iynthinai". It is being promoted by the Don Bosco Institute of Arts and Communication (DBICA), in collaboration with the National Association for Media and Tribal Folklore and the Commission for Social Communications of the Archdiocese. The show is an entertaining initiative which enables young people to get to know well their traditions and cultural roots.
