(ANS – São Paulo) – The select group of members from the Education Group of Salesian University Institutions (IUS) gathered at Pio XI Campus of Salesian University of São Paulo from 17-19 September 2018 for an intercontinental seminar and the Vth Assembly of the Delegates of the Group.
(ANS - Rome) – "Let us humanize, evangelize, educate and be courageous in challenges and proposals because the Church invites us today to be forward-looking on young people." With these words, transmitted through a video message, the Rector Major, Fr Àngel Fernández Artime, indicated the high road to participants of the International Congress "Youth and Life Choices: Educational Perspectives", which ended yesterday, Sunday 23 September, at the Salesian Pontifical University of Rome.
(ANS - Rome) - It is Pope Francis who translates the request that animates the International Congress "Youth and Life Choices: Educational Perspectives", which opened yesterday, September 20, 2018. In the message sent to participants, the Pope wishes that the event, "starting from the original contribution of the Salesian educational charism, may represent a significant stage of reflection and concrete help for the various problems linked to the world of youth, taking into account the most diverse and profound needs connected to their human and spiritual growth."
(ANS - Jorhat) - Over 50 young graduates, originating from various districts in Northeast India, gathered at the Salesian Center "Institute for Culture and Rural Development" (I-CARD) for a four-day meeting from 12 to 15 September 2018. The event brought together students and past pupils of I-CARD and students of the "Jeevan" Institute of Business Training, to jointly seek and find options for individual growth and for the transformation of society.
(ANS - Rome) – On nearing the celebration of the Synod of Bishops on "Youth, faith and vocational discernment", scheduled for next October, the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) and the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences "Auxilium" are organizing the International Congress "Youth and life choices: educational perspectives" in Rome, 20-23 September 2018. "Together with experts from all over the world of young people from various continents, we will see how the Salesian charism and the life experience of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello can teach something about the choices of life today," explained Fr Mauro Mantovani, UPS Rector.
(ANS - Hua Hin) - The seminar on Salesian post-novitiates in South Asia and East Asia-Oceania ended in Hua Hin, Thailand, on 4 September. The seminar was an opportunity to share insights and experiences among the deans of the centers of philosophical studies and the formators of the post-novitiates of many different countries.
(ANS - Lima) - On September 10, 16 Salesians Delegates for Formation of the Interamerica Region Provinces met in Lima. They gathered for the annual meeting of the Regional Formation Commission, which lastw until September 14.
(ANS - Morelia) - On 31 August-1 September, the National Salesian Education Team (ENES) convened the IV National Meeting of Salesian Executives at the Salesian Institute of Anáhuac. Over 250 principals and leaders of Salesian educational communities from all over the country participated, from Tijuana to Chiapas.
(ANS - Letojanni) - Sharing the paths and acknowledging the mission of communicating the beauty of Don Bosco's charism, this is the meaning of the Social Communication Seminar of the Salesians in Italy, held in Letojanni (Messina) from 3 to 5 September. A long awaited meeting, attended by 29 social communication operators belonging to the Italian associations of the Salesian world and to the various Provinces of Italy, to the "many energies found in the Salesian world and that represent the work that takes place at the level of communication", underlined Fr Moreno Filipetto, delegate for Social Communication of the Salesians in Italy and the event's coordinator. Among them, the persons in charge of Social Communication of the six Provinces of Italy, a number of priests and many lay people, collaborators and co-directors. "The goal," continues Fr Filipetto, "is to find common ways on which to walk together and create the common mission."
(ANS - Abidjan) – Taking place from 29 August to 3 September was the Salesian Youth Movement Forum (SYM), attended by 387 young people from Benin, Burkina-Faso, Ivory Coast and Togo. The event took place in the Don Bosco Center in Abidjan, and was animated by 44 people including Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Salesians of Don Bosco, Salesian Cooperators and volunteers of Don Bosco.
