(ANS - Bratislava) – Concluding 4 November was the European Seminar of the Association of “Cultori di Storia Salesiana” (ACSSA), scholars of Salesian history, which was held at the "Centrum Salvator" in Bratislava; its aim: to present “Important Salesian Figures between XIX and XX in Europe”, that is, the Salesians (SDB) and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), who though differing in formation, culture, habits, contexts of action, whether in a brief or lengthy part of their lives, represented and lived the Salesian mission in a way that was meaningful, innovative, special, or unique.
(ANS – Manaus) – From November 1-4, 2018, the Salesians (SDB-FMA) in the Amazonian Region gathered in Manaus (AM) to reflect upon the 125 years of missionary activity within the territory, the challenges of the present, and lines-of-action necessary to plan for the future with renewed vigour. More than 100 SDBs, FMAs, lay catechists, ministers, coordinators and experts from different provinces, experts, indigenous peoples, and other religious sisters were invited, enriching every session.

(ANS - Cordoba) - "I believe that the intention to structure a national team reflects the desire for it to truly work, and to feel a movement that works together with the same goal, which are young people, and with the same style: the Salesian style." Speaking is Nicolás Urquiza, one of the participants in the great extraordinary assembly of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) 2018, held from 26 to 28 October in Cordoba, which brought together about 70 people.
(ANS - Manaus) - According to data provided by the "Pan-Amazon Ecclesial Network" (REPAM), 2,759,478 people in the Amazon region of South America belong to 390 indigenous peoples and 137 peoples living in isolation. They speak 240 different languages, belonging to 49 linguistic branches, which represent a great wealth from the historical and cultural point of view. A "new world" that is truly immense and with and of great values. The announcement of a Synod for the Pan-Amazon region for the month of October 2019 thus demonstrates the Holy Father's commitment to a Church that seeks to change the way it operates in the Amazon. And the Salesians? The spiritual Sons of Don Bosco live, in fact, among them.
