Madrid, Spain – July 2016 – From July 27th to 30th, the eleventh edition of the School for the Delegates of the Salesian Family is being held in Madrid on the theme “Growing together as Educators”. The participants are 169.

New Delhi, India – July 25th, 2016 – Fr. K. A. Thomas, sdb, founder and director of the Institute of Culture and Rural Development (I-CARD), Jorhat, has been given the  “Jewel of India Gold Medal Award”, and a Certificate of Excellence from the International Institute of Education and Management (IIEM) of New Delhi. Fr. Thomas was awarded the prize by Dr. Bhishmanarayan Singh, former governor of Assam, with the motivation: for the excellent services rendered for the development of the community. 

Salama, D.R. Congo – July 27th, 2016 – On July 27th, the community of the Superiors School of Informatics of Salama gathered for the celebration of the Mass at the closure of the academic year. The Mass was presided over by Fr. Jean Claud Ngoy, Superior of the Province of Central Africa (AFC). At the end of the Mass, there was the publication of the academic results and the graduation ceremony.

Shillong, India - July 2016 - From 16 to 19 July at the Pastoral Centre in Shillong, 25 young priests of the Salesian Provinces of Silchar (INS) and Guwahati (ING), participated in a Youth Ministry training course led by Fr Glendford Lowe, Youth Ministry Delegate for of the Province of Mumbai.

Walkerville, South Africa - July 2016 - On 23 and July 24 at Bosco Youth Centre, about 60 young people from various works of the Southern Africa Vice-Province (AFM) participated in a Leaders’ Seminar focused on Don Bosco and Salesian spirituality.

Cochabamba, Bolivia - July 2016 - On 23 July, in the community of Kami, Sabino Mendoza was ordained priest by the laying on of hands by Archbishop Tito Solari, SDB, of Cochabamba, in the presence of Fr Javier Ortiz, Provincial of Bolivia, and the Salesian community and many of the faithful.
