Resende, Brazil - June 2016 - On 12 June, the Association of Salesian Cooperators (ASC) welcomed eight new members during Mass celebrated by Fr Reginaldo Fragoso Marinho, Delegate for the Salesian Family in Belo Horizonte (BBH) in the presence of Joaquim de Carvalho, ASC Provincial coordinator, and Fr Francisco de Assis Cipriano, director of the São José School who was responsible for the formation of the Salesian Cooperators’ group of Resende.

Battersea, England - June 2016 - The Provincial Congress of the Association of Salesian Cooperators (ASC) took place on 11 June for the election of the new council to hold office from 2016 to 2019. Among those present at the conference were Fr Francis Preston, SDB, Sr Mary Treacey, FMA Delegate, and 14 members of the ASC.

Mumbai, India – 16 June 2016 - Twenty-five girls aged between 8 and 12 from the slums of Wadala, Matunga and Kings Circle, have been selected to take part in a Hockey School. The initiative was organized by the "Don Bosco Development Society" and the "Don Bosco International School" in Matunga in collaboration with professional hockey coaches. The aim is to train professional players for the Indian national team.

Malkerns, Swaziland - 24 June 2016 - The students of two Salesian schools, St John Bosco High and Primary, joined thousands of young people in a march against violence towards women. The march was organized by Fr Martin McCormack SDB, director of both schools, following the killing of a young woman teacher, who taught at the Salesian School. So far this year, 46 women have been killed in various parts of Swaziland.

Chemnitz, Germany – June 21st, 2016 – “There are no Desperate Cases”: this was the theme discussed by 35 professionals of social institutions and of the labour office of the region, at the Don Bosco House of Chemnitz. They spoke of the policies and the necessity of new approaches and of high quality criteria for the work of the co-called “difficult youth”. The starting point were the experiences of the project “Ready for the Future”.

Ląd, Polonia – June 2016 - From June 12th to 15th, in the post-novitiate of Łódź there was a formation encounter for formators, with participants coming from the houses of Ląd, Kraków, Kopiec e Woźniaków. At the encounter there were several speakers: Fr. Stanisław Jankowski, SDB; Fr. Zbignieg Formella, SDB, Fr. Maciej Sarbinowski, SDB, and Dr. Jolanta Próchniewicz; the workshops were guided by Fr. Formella and Fr. Sarbinowski. During the formation program, there was a trip to a Poznań, with a visit to the Interactive Centre of History of Ostrów Tumski and a visit to the Cathedral – the Basilica Minor, where there is the tomb of Salesian Archbishop. There were also encounters of confrontation and sharing with the Salesians of the post-novitiate of Łódź.
