Santa Clara, Cuba - February 2018 - On 5 February, the Salesian Youth Center "Ge+" was inaugurated, consolidating the Salesian mission in the most centrally-located center in Cuba, Santa Clara. The Eucharist was celebrated by Fr Eduardo Marroquí, SDB, and was followed by cutting the ribbon before teenagers and young people accompanied by members of the Salesian Cooperators Association. The project, in full harmony with the Reference Framework for Salesian Youth Ministry, offers an itinerary of formation and life experiences centered on the human-Christian development of young people around the Gospel. The Salesian style distinguishes this path, which leads to the encounter with God through youthful spirituality, the attention given to the project of personal life, daily life, happiness, Marian devotion and service to the Church and society, just as Don Bosco wished.

Palermo, Italy - January 2018 - The Salesian Don Bosco Institute "Villa Ranchibile" of Palermo celebrated the Saint of the Young in a special way. On 31 January last, in fact, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Palermo, Msgr. Corrado Lorefice, presiding at the Eucharist solemnly dedicated the institute's church, consecrating its altar. It was a very evocative and emotional moment - for the succession of signs proper to the rite and for the thanksgiving to God for the gift of the 80 years of Salesian presence at the Ranchibile of Palermo. Under the guidance of the director, Fr Domenico Saraniti, the Salesians coordinate and manage the school activities of the Secondary School and of the Lyceum, which offers three branches of study, with about 750 students. The institute is one of the city's most renowned and also houses a thriving oratory, a public church and a theater. At the end of the celebration, animated by the Grand Choir of the institute, the archbishop of Palermo unveiled a commemorative plaque of the event.

Tláhuac, Mexico - February 2018 – The "Campo Cagliero 2018" took place on 3 and 4 February, and was attended by 39 young people from the Salesian centers of the Mexico City Province (MEM); the aim: to live an experience in discovering Jesus and the identity of the missionary disciple called to follow Him. The meeting took place in the buildings of the “Crafts of Nazareth”, the reception center of the "Proyecto Chavos de Don Bosco". Participants listened to various testimonies of Salesians, lay people and missionary volunteers in the areas affected by the earthquake and to interact with the young people of the project.

Los Angeles, United States - 4 February 2018 - At the parish of "Santa Brigida", Fr Ted Montemayor, Provincial of the Salesian Province of United States West (SUO), presided at the Eucharistic celebration during which 21 parishioners made their promise as members of the Association of Salesian Cooperators.

Luanda, Angola - February 2018 - On 4 February, Fr Víctor Sequeira, Provincial of the Vice Province of Angola (ANG), presented the Rector Major's 2018 Strenna to the members of the Salesian Family.

La Ermita, Chile - January 2018 - From January 22 to 26, the 35th National Meeting of Youth Leaders and Youth Ministry Teams was held, organized by the YM National Commission. The more than 90 participants were able to reflect and discuss the theme "Young people, faith and vocational discernment", via the consultation tools for the next Synod of Bishops, and thus evaluated the involvement, questions and answers of the young.
