Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - January 2018 - The first-year Salesian aspirants belonging to the Vice Province of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands (PGS) have completed their experience of their missionary voluntary service at the Salesian parish of Araimiri. Their evaluation found this initiative, called "Cagliero Experience", a very positive one, not only because it made them experience a concrete task of evangelization but, above all, because it helped them in vocational discernment.

Ljubljana, Slovenia - 31 January 2018 - On the occasion of the feast of Don Bosco, the Salesians of the Ljubljana Province gathered at the main office of the Province (SLO), in Ljubljana Rakovnik. The festival was special because the construction of the building that will serve for the Salesian community, the boarding school, the library and the historical archive of the SLO Province was completed. The Provincial, Fr Janez Potočnik, blessed the new building. Also present: the appointed provincial, Fr Marko Košnik, current director of the house, and many other Salesians. The new building was named after the missionary and Servant of God Fr Andrej Majcen. It replaces the previous one, where Fr. Majcen lived for the last 20 years, carrying out the apostolate of confessor at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians.
