Bellflower, United States – 2 March 2018 - With about 300 students from over 20 schools in Los Angeles and Orange, the academic Decathlon competition of Southern California took place, which saw the victory, in first place overall in the fourth division and in the "Super Quiz", of the Salesian institute "St. John Bosco High School ", winning a total of 56 medals. The teams competed on the theme "Africa" in 11 areas: art, economics, essays, interviews, language and literature, mathematics, music, social sciences, speeches, science and super quizzes.
Lubumbashi, R.D. Congo - March 2018 - On March 18, during the Eucharistic celebration in the chapel of Mary Help of Christians of the Central Africa Province (AFC), students of the School of Economic and Political Administration (EcoPo) were sent on their missions. To prepare for the missionary activities young people attended formation courses in Imara and Kansebula.
Munich, Germany - March 2018 - Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine, United Kingdom: are all the nations represented at the official meeting of the "General Executive Body" of Don Bosco Youth-Net, the general assembly of the network of Salesian realities from all over Europe that gathered from 8 to 11 March. Various issues were discussed, the challenges each organization undertakes in their attention to disadvantaged young people shared, an overview made of the DBYN work plan for 2018, with special emphasis on the single Erasmus+ project, and reports on activities and finance presented. Also, a new member of the network was welcomed unanimously: France, represented by the Salesian Youth Movement, which also includes southern French-speaking Belgium. The report on the status of the network and the strategic guidance document that will guide the planning of the DBYN activities for the next three years was also presented.
Krakow, Poland - March 2017 - On 14-15 March, the meeting of the directors and parish priests of the Salesian Province of Krakow (PLS) took place. The first day began with prayer, a discussion of the Rector Major's Strenna 2018 curated by Fr Adam Parszywka, PLS Provincial, and the presentation of the Rector Major's letter following the last Extraordinary Visitation. The conference "Dialogues on Education" followed, a reflection on the history, mission and identity of the Salesian "Łosiówka" center (the Salesian seminary in Krakow); a talk by PLS Provincial Vicar Fr Marcin Kaznowski on formation; the Eucharist presided by the Provincial PLS; prayer; a workshop on accompaniment; a review of commitments and responsible management, led by Mrs Weronika Griszel; and the intervention of the Provincial Economer, Fr. Gabriel Stawowy. The second day began with words by the heads of the various sectors, who highlighted various events, initiatives undertaken or begun, such as "Savionalia 2018", the International Salesian Youth Games, the new provincial web page and the reopening of the Salesian School for Organists in Przemyśl.
Vung Tau, Vietnam - March 2018 - On 8-9 March the Vietnamese Salesian Brothers gathered for a mini-congress during which they reflected on the document "Identity and Mission of the Salesian Brother in the Church", with prayer sessions, seminars, sharing, planning and recreational activities.
San Justo, Argentina - March 2018 - From February 28 to March 1, the National Salesian Team on Addiction met for the first time, with the aim of generating a space for meeting and reflection on the problem of drug use. The leaders of the Argentinean Provinces of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and of the Salesians took part in the meeting.
