Guntur, India - March 2018 - The third seminar and workshop of the "Participatory Action Research" program (PAR) was held from 5 to 7 March, a form of active and participatory research aimed at directly involving children in the transformation of the Salesian centers for Young People at Risk (YaR). During the seminar, an assessment was made of the past three years that definitively put the Salesian centers for the Young at Risk on the path that leads to co-management between adults and minors. The various presentations highlighted the progress of the participatory management objective in 29 centers distributed across 6 southern Indian states.

Xuan Hiep, Vietnam - March 2018 - On March 10, at the "Beato Filippo Rinaldi" Theological Institute, a conference was held on the theme "Youth, faith and vocational discernment". Taking part were over 800 participants including young people, aspirants and Salesian postnovices and of many other congregations, plus students of the Rinaldi Institute, catechists of various parishes, SDB and FMA, and members of the Salesian Family. Also present: Fr Joseph Nguyen Van Am, Vicar of the Salesian Province of Vietnam and dean of the Rinaldi Institute.

Cachoeira do Campo, Brazil - March 2018 - On March 13 and 14, the national meeting of Provincial Delegates and Coordinators of Social Communication of the 6 Provinces of the Salesians and 9 of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Brazil took place. The meeting was animated by Sr. Maria Helena Moreira, General Councilor for the Social Communication Sector, and Sr. Gabriella Imperatore, of the same area, who developed the theme of the institutional communication policy of the FMA Institute. Coordinators and delegates, assisted by the two directors of the Salesian Brazil Network of Communication, Sr. Márcia Koffermann and Fr João Carlos Ribeiro, worked on the institutional development plan for the three year period 2018-2020, starting with discussions of the 2015-2017 Triennial Evaluation Report.

Limpio, Paraguay - March 2018 - The year's first National Council of the “Exploradores de Don Bosco” of Paraguay was held on March 3 and 4. The Council began with the reflection on the Rector Major's Strenna 2018 and was animated by the national chaplain, Fr. Raúl Del Castillo, followed by the presentation of the calendar of activities for 2018. The Council culminated with the Extraordinary Assembly during which Sandra Álvarez was elected as its new national director.

Valencia, Spain - March 2018 - The 19th edition of the ranking of the Spanish daily "El Mundo", which analyzes over a thousand private or subsidized schools in Spain, through 27 criteria divided into three categories - "100 best", "International" and "Notables, or noteworthy" - saw two Salesian schools obtain a place in the standings. "Salesianos San Antonio Abad" of Valencia ranked 70th among the top 100, while "Salesianos Elche" ranked 28th among the "Notables."

Hong Kong, China - March 2018 - On March 3, the "2018 Salesian Youth Day", the annual meeting of the Salesian Youth Movement in Hong Kong, was held on the theme "We are Family". About 500 people took part, including young people, Salesians, FMA and Salesian Cooperators.
