Wrocław, Poland - May 2018 – Guided by the Councilor for the Central and North European Region, Fr. Tadeusz Rozmus, the Provincials of the Conference of the Provinces of Poland met from 14 to 16 May. With them, was also the Provincial of the Special Circumscription of Ukraine, of Greek-Byzantine rite, and the Delegate of the Belarus Delegation. A whole day was dedicated to the study of the current situation of their youth and their vision of the future. The members of the Youth Ministry Committees of all the six Provinces also took part and, guided by the General Councilor for Youth Ministry, Fr Fabio Attard and Fr Tarcisio Morais, of the same Dicastery, they discussed and studied the challenges and prospects of the Salesian charism among young people in this area of the Salesian Congregation.
Lima, Peru - May 2018 - In the Exhibition Hall of the Salesian Institute of Technology, the photographic exhibition "Salesian Sainthood" was presented on May 14th, a tribute to all those people who with love, dedication and service have contributed to improving the quality of spiritual and social life of thousands of young people, such as Fr Luis Bolla, Salesian missionary in the Peruvian Amazon. The ceremony was attended by Fr Manuel Cayo, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Peru, Sr. Gloria Patiño, Provincial of the FMA, past pupils and members of the Salesian Family. The exhibition was promoted and organized by Fr Vicente Santilli.
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - May 2018 - To help the Salesians of Mongolia think and work with a project-planning mindset required by General Chapter 27, the Provincial Delegation of Mongolia organized a project-planning course from 7 to 11 May and was led by the Vietnamese expert, Dr. Le Dai Tri. Ten Salesians attended the course, including Delegate Fr Paul Leung. Also present were the Salesians of Vietnam Fr John Chrysostom Phạm Ngọc Trường, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry, and Fr Peter Pham Van Chinh, Provincial Delegate for Social Communication.
San Justo, Argentina - April 2018 - On April 28, the diaconal ordinations of the Salesians Alexis Garro, Leonel Cánepa and Phuong Fu Nguyen, presided by Msgr. Eduardo García, bishop of the diocese of San Justo, were celebrated.
Krakow, Poland - May 2018 - On 12 May, in the Salesian parish church of St Stanislaus Kostka in Dębniki, twelve Salesians of all four Polish Provinces were ordained deacons: Paweł Bróż, Łukasz Burnicki, Akacjusz Cybulski, Marcin Giemzik, Krzysztof Jaskólski , Artur Liashneuski, Józef Łysik, Marek Majewski, Jakub Marek, Marcin Pikor, Michał Słojewski, Roman Tsyganiuk. The celebration was presided over by Msgr. Aliaksandr Yasheuski, SDB, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Minsk-Mohilev.
Rome, Italy - May 16, 2018 - The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, together with the General Economer, Br Jean Paul Muller, and the new Provincial Economers, on the altar of Mary Help of Christians at the Sacred Heart, commemorates the event of May 16 1887. Don Bosco, celebrating mass at the altar of Mary Help of Christians in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, burst into tears, and was so overcome by emotion, he had to be helped complete the celebration. Don Bosco then explained to his Salesians that he had reviewed his entire history and the presence of the Lord and Mary beside him, since the time of his famous dream at nine years of age to the present.
