Port-au-Prince, Haiti - May 2018 - From 17 to 20 May, the Salesians of Haiti organized the seventh edition of the Salesian National Games. Over one thousand young people coming from the various works of the Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of Haiti attended. The sporting event began with an opening speech by Fr Jean-Paul Mésidor, Superior of the Vice Province of Haiti, who encouraged young people to cultivate tolerance, a sense of belonging and team spirit.

Nairobi, Kenya - May 2018 - On May 19, at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians of Upperhill, 7 Salesian deacons were ordained priests and 13 Salesian students of the Utume theologate were ordained deacons by Msgr. David Kamau, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Nairobi.

Brasilia, Brazil - May 2018 - The National Council of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) was held on May 5 and 6, during which the research conducted on the visual identity of the SYM was analyzed. Approximately one thousand young people, Salesians and FMA of Brazil, attended. The composition of the new coordination of the SYM National Council for the next two years was also completed.

Johannesburg, South Africa - May 2018 - On 12 May the young people of the Salesian Youth Movement in Johannesburg met at the "Don Bosco Educational Projects" in Ennerdale to reflect on the message of Pope Francis for the World Day of Social Communications. There was a debate about what it means to be a Christian online and how to counteract the problem of fake news. In addition, young people were asked to produce a video that promotes peace journalism, especially on social networks.

Lubumbashi, D.R. Congo - May 2018 - On May 20, the Salesian Family in Central Africa, under the guidance of the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA), organized a pilgrimage of thanksgiving to Mary Help of Christians in Lubumbashi. The concluding Mass was presided over by Fr. Albert Kabuge, AFC Provincial.

Buenos Aires, Argentina - May 2018 - On May 8th, various representatives of the Salesian Institutions of Higher Education (IUS) of Argentina met. During the meeting the participants planned common programs, with the aim of continuing the growth in the management, animation and accompaniment of the IUS, working in and as a network and maintaining the Salesian style and presence. Among the topics dealt with: national and jurisdictional policies at the educational level, university pastoral care, work as a network in relation to the academic proposals of the Institutes and the resonances raised by the Digital Review of the Salesian Network of Higher Education.
