(ANS - Rome) - Salesian priest Giulio Barberis (1847-1927) was one of Don Bosco's disciples and associates recognized as a key figure for the genesis and development of the Salesian Opera in organizational, institutional, training and charismatic aspects. For this reason, Fr José Manuel Prellezo, a member of the Salesian Historical Institute (ISS), curated a critical edition of the famous "Footnotes of Pedagogy" by Fr Barberis (1897).
(ANS – Mumbai) – Kurla-based St Joseph’s Industrial Training Institute (SJITI), by joining forces with Tata Hitachi, has become the first institution in India to offer a Dealer Service Induction Training program after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the institute and Tata Hitachi on July 15, a day fittingly marked to celebrate World Youth Skills Day.
(ANS – Kolkata) – When the night comes, street children become particularly vulnerable. Every evening, Don Bosco Ashalayam in Kolkata opens its doors to all children in need of a safe place to sleep. Children and young people come stay the night but have the freedom to leave if they wish. However, the Night Shelters are close to the homes, and their positive experience at the Night Shelter means that some vulnerable young people elect to move to this more stable environment. They can eat healthy meals, wash, receive medical care and enjoy a safe place to study and socialize with friends.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

This assembly, the most important one that the Congregation can experience, occurs every six years along the Salesian Congregation’s journey.
