(ANS - Rome) - "Digital health" conditions many aspects of life and relationships today: at school, in educational and leisure environments, and in the family; it involves the safe, responsible, and healthy use of technology. Recognizing, therefore, its extreme relevance, the Sector for Youth Ministry and the Sector for Social Communication have decided to promote a training course of three meetings deputed to address the issue of digital health of adolescents and young people.
(ANS - Rome) - On January 25, 2023, as part of the work of the General Council, the Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consent of the other Council members, decreed the canonical erection of the Salesian Province of Tanzania (TZA). The new Province shall be named after St. Artemide Zatti and will be based at the Dar Es Salaam-Oyster Bay institution.
(ANS - Rome) - Feb. 1 marks the centenary of the death of Blessed Luigi Variara, a Salesian of Don Bosco, in Cùcuta, Colombia, at 49 years of age, 31 as a Salesian and 24 as a priest.
(ANS - Rome) - The winter plenary session of the General Council's work ended last Friday, January 27, 2023. After almost two months of intense activity, Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, wanted to share what had been accomplished during this time with the community of Valdocco, which hosted the sessions, and he did so with the traditional "Salesian goodnight" message.

Every saint carries within him or her a particular charism and fascination, but in Don Bosco once can gauge a rich and perfect combination of human and divine qualities. It is amazing to note, how a simple, poor, semi-orphan peasant boy from Becchi, could rise up to the founding of a congregation, and sow the seed for the rise of a great movement, the Salesian family which has more 400,000 members all over the world. Today his followers, the Salesians of Don Bosco are more than 14,000 and present in 134 countries of the world reaching out to the young people most in need.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.
