(ANS – Turin) – Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major, has confirmed the choice of the logo for the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the First Salesian Missionary Expedition. Thirteen provinces submitted their proposals to the logo competition, organised by the Missions Sector, from which a six-member commission selected the best logo according to predetermined criteria. The winning logo comes from the Czech Province of St John Bosco (CEP), and is the work of artist Martina Mončeková.
(ANS – Rome) –As we approach the feast of St John Bosco in this Bicentennial year of his most famous dream at nine years of age, for the readers of ANS we would like to propose a trio of dreams among the best known, most significant and most "prophetic" for the Congregation and the whole Church. We begin today with the one that went down in history as "The Dream of the Two Columns" (Biographical Memoirs VII, 169-171), whose content, so truly ecclesial, is often cited and recalled in many different places and circumstances, even outside the Salesian world.
(ANS– Turin) – Carry out an accurate review of the new document on communication, which will accompany the journey of the Salesian Congregation in the coming years – this was the commitment of a team of experts in mass media and communication, which met from 22 to 25 January 2024 in Turin, in the Salesian house at Valdocco.
(ANS - Rome) - On Sunday 28th January 2024, the Fourth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, blessed and inaugurated the new Chapel of the Word of God at the Salesian Headquarters - which has undergone extensive renovation work in recent months. It was a very simple and at the same time a meaningful rite, during which the community of the Salesian Headquarters could rejoice in the dedication of this space for prayer, and a space for fraternal communion at the table of the Divine Word.
(ANS – Turin) – The December – January winter plenary session of the General Council ended on Friday, 26 January 2024. At the end of the work, the data relating to the work carried out during the session was shared.
RMG – "Don Bosco among us": the Province of Recife is preparing to welcome Cardinal Fernández Artime
(ANS – Rome) – Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime will spend the last feast of Don Bosco in his term as Rector Major in Recife. The 10th Successor of Don Bosco is preparing to reach the St Aloysius Gonzaga Province of Northeastern Brazil to carry out an animation visit to the Salesians and the local Salesian Family from 29 January to 4 February. "Don Bosco among us" is the significant motto chosen for this visit.

The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
