(ANS - Rome) - On a day dedicated to climate change, thousands of young people around the world are expressing their desire to live in a cleaner and healthier world, where respect for life also passes through respect for the planet and for the whole of Creation. They are claiming their right to live in a better world, to leave posterity with a healthier and more livable Earth.
(ANS - Rome) - "Father Ángel, we are waiting for you!": thus the joyful cry of the Salesian Youth Movement of the Triveneto, which awaits Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime next Sunday, March 17, for the traditional "Festa Ragazzi" in Jesolo. The X Successor of Don Bosco will participate in the large festival, which annually gathers thousands of participants from all the centers of the area's Salesian Family. He will also visit other Salesian houses and realities of the Salesian Province of North-East Italy.
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is considered a missionary saint without ever having been on a mission. It was his great aspiration and he received many offers of destinations to which the first Salesians were sent, but it was only when he saw it clearly in his dream that he succeeded in achieving this goal in life, through the first missionary expeditions. From that moment on, the missionary spirit of the Salesians goes hand in hand with their charism: an evangelizing passion through education and integral promotion of young people, especially the most disadvantaged.
(ANS - Rome) - From 8 to 12 March, Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime shall be on African soil. Accompanied by the Councilor for the Africa-Madagascar region, Fr Américo Chaquisse, and by Fr Horacio López, Secretary of the Rector Major, he will animate Salesians and the Salesian Family present in the "Blessed Michael Rua" Vice Province of Southern Africa - which includes South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho.
(ANS - Rome) – Being present on Social Networks is a fundamental element for anyone involved in communications. Even in the recent World Consultation (aka Consulta) on Social Communication, the role social networks play in today's society and how useful they can be towards reaching young people was widely discussed.
(ANS - Rome) - The latest video recorded by the Rector Major for the quarterly column "Cari Confratelli, or Dear Confreres" is available online today, Thursday 28 February. Made during the World Youth Day (WYD) in Panama, it is a warm call to the Salesians to live, following the example of Don Bosco, in total dedication to the young.
