(ANS - Rome) - Finding oneself in Turin immediately before the feast of Mary Help of Christians and thus, in fraternal sharing and in common Marian devotion, discerning together how to cooperate for the good of young people around the world. This is the meaning of the gathering of the World Consulta of the Salesian Family, scheduled from Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 May, at Valdocco.
(ANS - Rome) – Due to the celebration of International Museum Day, Saturday 18 May, and of the invitation of the Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, to "start in a coordinated way the care and promotion of Salesian artistic and cultural assets as the wealth and heritage of the Congregation in favor of the mission", seven Salesian museums in the world held what was a first work session towards laying the foundations for a Network of Salesian Museums.
(ANS - Rome) – Now near the beginning of the novena to Mary Help of Christians, the first resources relating to the World Novena proposed by the Rector Major to the whole Congregation and to all the groups that share the Salesian charism are being made available online. Accompanied by Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, this year's focus for meditation shall be the "beatitudes of the Salesian Family".
(ANS - Rome) – On the occasion of the beginning of the Marian month – May -, Fr Eusebio Muñoz, Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family, renews the invitation to the groups of the Salesian Family to participate in the VIII International Congress of Mary Help of Christians, to be held from 7 to 10 November 2019 in Buenos Aires (Argentina); its title: "With Mary, Woman who believes". (ANS - Rome) - "This meeting is a course for the new Provincial Economers who have recently been appointed. It is designed to bring them closer to the global work that the Salesian Congregation does in the General House for the benefit of young people," said Br. Jean Paul Muller, SDB, Economer General of the Salesian Congregation, speaking of the meeting of Provincial Bursars that began on Sunday 28 April at the Generalate in Rome, scheduled until Friday 3 May.
(ANS - Rome) – Given last year's success, the experience of the world novena to Mary Help of Christians is being repeated in 2019, with testimonies on the sanctity of the Salesian Family and the comment of the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Spain – 33rd Edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature: Here Are the Winners
(ANS – Madrid) – The 33rd edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature has been awarded to Beatriz Giménez de Ory (Madrid, 1972) for her novel Tres niños tristes y medio unicornio (Three Sad Children and Half a Unicorn) and David Lozano (Zaragoza, 1974) for his novel La cacería (The Hunt).

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
